jailbroken iOS tweaks

Drag and drop is very simple with powerful search functions from Windows 7. With dropbox installed I can drag and drop to my dropbox and just sync from there. Everything stays as mp3 format on all my devices (android phone, sony mp3 player, windows laptops) and I'm happy. I don't have to load up any software, I can search directly from the start menu and go from there. I've used 3rd party music organisation software from Sony and from Creative and I just didn't like the functionality, I also used iTunes once for an iPod I bought my wife and really I had the same experience as with the Sony and Creative programs. Didn't like it.

Very powerful in iTunes as well. As soon as I start typing it narrows down, letter by letter. Its great with an iOS eco system, obviously not with how you work. Each to there own, but I would go nuts trying to keep files organized in folders to drop on my devices. Most of my music listening happens from my computer, so its in iTunes to begin with.

a lot of tweaks in one tweak(package), its just a wow tweak.

Someone gave me an Iphone that had a broken speaker ribbon and a broken mic. I fixed both. Now for the love of Apple, HOW you put a music folder on this thing. I dont want itunes to mess with my folders. I just want to drag and drop it in the phone.

you would need to be jailbroken........i never made a folder for that purpose, and i wouldn't, cause i prefer to use iTunes all the way(organized better), and not sure how/why people say they do not wanna use iTunes!!!.

The most important thing for me on a phone is on board navigation. I have been messing with this iphone quite a bit now. Filesonic is down so a lot of the stuff out there is hard to find.

I got garmin to work on the iPhone, which is very important for me. IMHO it has by far the best routing than anything out there. The ability differentiate between highways, roads and gravel roads makes it a lot more reliable than other stuff out there. It works very well on the iPhone, a lot better than the ancient symbian and even better than most garmin units out there.

I still want to try iGO, copilot and sygic. I am hoping one of them is more capable than garmin when it comes to importing routes, because that is the only thing that sucks badly in garmin.

Any other navigation apps I should look at?

Regarding music, does itunes convert my mp3s to aac before uploading them to the iPhone?

I have Navigon, it's a 1.2gb app, so it is offline ready. Not sure too much about features, since I don't use much, but it is awesome, i think it even have voice navi.

Mapquest is good too.

A jailbroken Apple TV is an awesome unit to run XBMC. I've setup a bunch of Apple TV's for friends for only this purpose. XBMC allows you to stream videos from a NAS or networked computer. Even better you can add all sorts of addons for various video streams. Everything from movies, tv shows, to international language programs. If you want to see what XBMC can do, you can install it on your home computer and play around with it. Same setup as inside Apple TV

That's at least what I use my Apple TV for. You can add some useless stuff such as a web browser and e-mail as well.

Zomg zomg. It's SUPER awesome. I just got one a few days ago and it took me about an hour to get it jailbroke. I will admit that I was getting an error when trying to add my network drives, but after about a day and trying every now and again it let me add them. AirPlay is great for my wife too, now she can watch her shows from the network apps, or websites on the big screen.

I highly recommend it. But I heard that the boxee box thing can now to AirPlay as well.

Apple TV is a must. I currently only have 1(living room), but i need another one for the kids room, they use airplay everyday(not cool for living room tv hoggin').

XBMC is the go to app here too.... as one person mentioned above, good with a NAS solution(i made my own, kinda).

I attached my 1TB USB HDD, to my Apple Extreme(router) via USB, which i can access wirelessly, all my media stored on there(1 TB), on any Device(running XBMC).

Accessing your media, via the Apple TV(XBMC), is so much better, since it would be hooked up to the big screen and surround sound....rather than just a PC.

Besides the jailbreak, i enjoy using Airplay. The most fun i have, is using the Djay App and Airplay Mirroring with the iPad 2, where i get instant mixing wirelessly.

And i can Airplay from my Mac too.....Patiently waiting for Airplay mirroring from my Mac!!!!!
