If...big if....I get an iPad2 and jailbreak it...will I get flash capability and will it be stable? Will it behave itself etc?

IF you were to buy an iPad 2 from the store, it most definitely would not have the firmware version(OS) which is iOS 4.3.3, THE ONLY FIRMWARE jailbreakable for iPad 2..... they would probably be selling with 4.3.5 or 5.0(iOS 5), which is not jail-breakable on the iPad 2 or iPhone 4S at this moment(being worked on). With no way of downgrading to a lower firmware(without manually saving SHSH blobs, when that lower firmware was being offered, signed by apple). With the release of iOS 5, saving shsh blobs doesn't matter, because apple got smart.

iPad 1 and iPhone 4 will always be jail-breakable, and any other older iDevice available today, including Apple TV.

There is a few browsers available that handles flash video in its own little way, which i have but never use at all.
Been using iOS devices a bit now, and honestly never really missed flash....how i looked at it, i would use my computer for that, not a big deal. After all, apps was the main focus, and i have communication. If it was the iPad, then i might have cared, because its a browsing device, with a bigger screen.

But in case you didn't know, HTML5 is going hard, and many sites are converting. Flash is gonna be a thing of the past, HTML5 is crazy.

Bummer.....I'd rather have access to everything though...for the price these things cost it's not too much to ask.

i don't think you understand, please explain your problem?

Access to all parts of the web, including those that use flash.

You can run flash on an iPad without jailbreaking it. There is an app for that and it works reasonably well. Its called iSwifter. I loaded (when there was a free demo or something) a few heavy flash intensive websites (searched top 10 flash sites to test) and they did work with seemingly no problem, YMMV. I personally dont miss flash and rarely ever come across a site using flash, and usually its an older site that really needs to update to the future, which is HTML5

OK next question, and it's not trolling...with an stock OS can I drag and drop music in mp3 format onto an ipad and use it without having to convert it into the Apple format....same with movies...can I do all of this outside of iTunes?

No

It is drag and drop from iTunes, but it does not appear like a usb drive on your desktop or anything like that.

Not sure why people like doing things this way with music, sounds very unorganized and like a huge hassle to listen to what you want when you want without hunting through folders for their music.

Not sure if you can do that with a jailbroken iPad or not, but it will never work that way with iOS.

Because people don't like change and think they always know what's best...

That might be part of it, but part of it is iTunes seems to run slow for some PC users. Not sure if those PC's are just bogged down with tunes of stuff running, or just slow, as it runs just as well on my PC as it does my Macs (PC i7, 6 gigs of ram, Macs x 2 i5, 8 gigs and 12 gigs of ram).

I did try the zune software, which some people rave about. I found it visually pleasing, but when it came to use, not very intuitive and to many things going on, ie to busy.

would be better to follow up non jailbroken chat in iphone android thread.

going off-topic here, don't want it to get congested for other jailbreak readers....thanks.

iphone dev team jailbroke the iphone 4S and iPad 2 on iOS 5......not release ready(no ETA's)...stay tuned!!!!

Drag and drop is very simple with powerful search functions from Windows 7. With dropbox installed I can drag and drop to my dropbox and just sync from there. Everything stays as mp3 format on all my devices (android phone, sony mp3 player, windows laptops) and I'm happy. I don't have to load up any software, I can search directly from the start menu and go from there. I've used 3rd party music organisation software from Sony and from Creative and I just didn't like the functionality, I also used iTunes once for an iPod I bought my wife and really I had the same experience as with the Sony and Creative programs. Didn't like it.
