1. What does this have to do with the "Darwin Award" ?? That is for people that kill themselves in a stupid/silly manner.
Darwin Awards recognize individuals who have contributed to human evolution by self-selecting themselves out of the gene pool via death or sterilization via their own (unnecessarily foolish) actions.
I love this forum. Bunch of church going saints who have never done anything to benefit themselves here. I've been in the car business most of my life and I've seen TONS of people claim things a lot worse than a couple hundred bucks. Insurance is high here because the gov't allows the scam to continue because their pockets are being lined. Give it a rest. His one claim for gear which he said he's sending back isn't changing the world. Bunch of friggin drama queensp
So go ahead be "greedy" but as others have said don't piss*d when your premiums skyrocket, because everyone else feels they are also "ENTITLED" to be greedy. Perhaps if people didn't feel so entitled our insurance would be much lower.
ha... your first day on this forum? it's the drama that brings everyone here, to post & read.
Anyways, not claiming to be saints, but it's really his sense of entitlement that really offends people. My initial comment still stands.
To me the one in the wrong is the insurance company. They should have said from the beginning of the conversation that they wanted the gear sent in. Mine didn't and now it's gone. When I asked why my bike wasn't being held at the dealer they claimed storage fees. If they come asking for my gear I'm going to say the same thing. Doesn't make me entitled or committing fraud. They don't want to outline the rules then screw them. Plain and simple. If you're covered for your gear as I was, the insurance company said any blemish anything to any gear I was wearing and they'll replace it with new. Not once did they say they're going to call and want it back. I guess you're right. Gtam as well as most other forums are just a dramatic pissing contest where everyone knows more than everyone else.
no sympathy for the OP, deserves to pay a high premium because of crap like this. Stop treating insurance claims like a free for all. Replacement is replacement, man up and deal with it. BTW, which insurance company is it? Maybe we can all turn in this thread to get ourselves a discount on you.
scam came first. insurance co's started as a way for farmers to cobver each others butts,Have insurance costs been so high that people started scamming them? or did people start scamming them, resulting in higher insurance costs?
scam came first. insurance co's started as a way for farmers to cobver each others butts,
...
I guess you should have:
1. been less "greedy"
2. sent in the gear
3. NOT posted anything about this on a public forum. You can rest assured the insurance companies visit forums like this.
Please step forward to accept your Darwin award.
Good points but I disagree with #2 (bolded by me).
Why should had he sent in the gear if the ins. co. didn't ask for it?
Some people (like me) know that they will ask for the damaged gear... some people (like the OP) didn't know... It is UP TO THE INS. CO. to communicate clearly and timely what will happen during and after a claim.
To me, this is a failure in communication created by the ins. co., the client cannot be an expert on accidents or on the claim process...
