Yeah i know this has been discussed in the past, so what im in need of a rant.

Im selling a few things and say the price is $100 for example, people STILL say " ill give you $20 for it "
Are you outta your ****ing mind. Yes please come take it for $20.

The other one is i have 2 Go PRO cameras for sale, and my inbox daily has been questions like ;
-is it HD?
-is it the HERO
-Is it the HERO2
-do you have pictures of it ?

Seriously, it says right in my ad, which i now underlined it is the "STANDARD" version of the GO PRO!
And do you seriously need pictures ?? If you dont know what a go pro looks like, good god man, google it.

The best one yet is asking if my price includes delivery or not!!! LMAFAO LOLLERCOASTER!!

If your that serious on an item, be prepared to GO PICK IT UP YOURSELF!!!! I live 45 minutes away from most parts of the GTA, get in your car and drive. Better yet, hop on your bike and go pick it up.

Some guy offered me a 100$ for a fresh set of Q2's (less than 50 KM use) because he can get a brand new set for 200$ shipped.
I then challenged him and asked him to show me the link and if it's true then I'll give him the tires for 100$, he changed his mind and said "oh, it's a 190, I need a 180." :rolleyes:

Internet anonymity makes it so easy for people to talk out of their ***.
 
If you guys saw the offers/trades for my bike you'd fall off your seats lol

Actually i wouldnt be suprised.

I had one guy show up a few years ago to look at my CBR RR. He gave this crazy lowball price, and i told him forget it. A week later he contacts me and says he wants to see the bike.
I tell him "Sure, as you long as your more in the ball park than your last offer".

Dude shows up, gives me the EXACT offer in person! I walk out and grab the garage door and start closing it. He's like " what you doing man?!?!"
I say " going in to have supper, since your handing out retarded offers"
I closed the door, and the guy stood in my driveway for 15 minutes thinking im coming back out. LMAO.
 
I like to deal with long standing or active members. Never ran into low ballers yet.

But if I did, Id agree to the price and set a "meet up" location somewhere far FAR away.
 
In all fairness, I would like to see a pic before I buy anything. I don't wanna buy a camera with a cracked lense for sure. You can never be too sure what others are willing to sell
 
Nothing frustrates me more then when people just post a link to their Kijiji ad. If I wanted to view the Kijiji ad then i would have gone there instead.

Agreed.

And of course GTAM is like Kijiji, it's a location centric marketplace...it is exactly like kijiji. Especially since people have that annoying habit of giving me a link to their kijiji ad. As far as lowballs on bikes, when you have knuckleheads asking 2400+ for an old used 125R or 4000+ for a 250R or $6000 for a 400R or I **** you not, $5500 for a CBR250R...yes there will be lowballs since when bikes go on the market no one wants to pay "summer prices" at the end of August. Especially since many new riders fail to understand even beginner bikes don't hold value over several seasons, and no one wants to pay 2012 dealership prices for your 2010 Ninja or CBR.
 
I dont mind the low ball email offers, I just ignore them.
But when I get a low ball offer along with a paragraph poorly trying to justify why what I am selling is only worth that only drives me nuts.

Does this thread come with a warranty? For how long would that warranty be?
 
I'll never forget the guy who came to look at my old zx6 and then his dad jumps in and tells me that sportbikes are s@#$ and harleys are way better. Still not sure if that was a lowball attempt or just a flat out insult.....and then he proceeded to silently put on his gloves.

Me: "What are you doing?"
Him: "Taking your bike for a test ride"
Me: "Umm...no you're not. You can stand on the side of the road and hear me shift through gears."

Funny enough, I did sell it to him for close to my asking price.
 
Linking to Kijiji ads isn't a crime, however lazy it may seem. Lowballing isn't a crime, however rude it appears. If a lowball offends you then either ignore it or be rude back. I know I am. They start the BS so I can carry it on.

tbh though, I'm getting so weary of trying to sell decent stuff for a fair price my garage is starting to get a bit crowded.
 
I have not sold anything on line yet either here or elsewhere. I would try to be a bit more selective and only accept offers from Nigerian princesses. They are all apparently very weathy as a close male relative has passed on leaving them just scads of money.
