Is Canada next?

LCBO would remove stock then dump it into foreign markets.

Over 10% of US name-branded spirit production is purchased by Ontario. A stop buy would send a shock wave through the industry, dumping 3 months of inventory your largest customer's inventory into the market would be excruciating.

US Bourbon makers are struggling as it is, this could collapse or seriously hurt them.

The reselling of LCBO stock would be a nice touch. They would be banned from Canadian shelves and other countries could cut their orders by buying from us. When the siege is over the distilleries have to pay overtime to catch up when the orders come in. Nasty stuff.

I think a lot of Canadians gulp down the media's kool-aid when it comes to understanding of day to day life.

Canadians characterize Americans as loud, selfish, materialistic, bullies who are focused on patriotism while being blind to international things. Many regions of Canada view other regions of Canada with similar levels of contempt.

Read thru the hundreds of ride reports you can find on this site that chart ride experiences through the USA, Western Canada, or Quebec -- see how many times people praise the experience and the interactions they had with locals. Then look at some of the political postings from those same people. Canadian dummies.

If you want to really understand Americans, spend time with them. You might find things surprisingly different than what you learned off CNN or Facebook-U.
In the 1960's I met a German ex soldier who spoke of the war in sad tones. He was a very likeable person.

A manager my wife worked for had been a Luftwaffe pilot. He too was a genial person

I had three likeable uncles that served in WWII. Two came back with minor injuries. In peace time they all would have gotten along well. In uniform they would be trying to kill each other.

Sadly, in life, we judge the crowd by the noisiest mouth.

My Father working with two business associates on an account. One was a former RAF pilot, the other a former Luftwaffe pilot. They started comparing notes re: timing, divisions assigned to, missions and sorties, etc.. Turns out the Luftwaffe pilot had shot the RAF pilot down over France. They both found it amusing in a serendipitous way.

Not all German servicemen were die hard Nazis. We went through Trudeaumania 101 with Papa T and the USA will likely regret Trumpmania.

There are books on the subject that point out how the mindset gets twisted. One book, written by a Jewish author implied that Eichman wasn't inherently evil and she seemed to have some sympathy towards how he became what he was but not to the point where he shouldn't be punished.

What we have learned from history is that we don't learn from history.

Not sure about this. Methinks Canadians will pick a slugger over a hug-it-outer when the time comes.

I think his level of difficulty has remained the same.

You might not have a pan-Canadian view on that. step outside the GTA and have a chat about guns -- they don't scare most of the country. On health care. Have a chat about health care with my neighbor who spent 3 years hobbled while the system sorted out his knee surgery.

PP will be just fine -- there isn't enough time, cash, or maple syrup to make a Liberal superhero before the next election.

I had a long response written out but it's GTAM so main points are: PP doesnt scream slugger to me. But i guess time will tell.

Pan canadian view wise...i lived in 3 provinces and my inlaws are from another 4th. I don't say canadians are afraid (although some are) of firearms, but they're not seen as a must as much as our southern neighbours.

Just overall, some values are put above others in Canada. The more people see stuff they don't like happen down south, the further it'll push them away from PP's side of the spectrum, not to deny the pendulum is swinging in his direction full tilt...butttt let's not take that one for granted

I would assume there is also an aging process so they made inventory to be sold today a bunch of years ago and they need to plan today for sales years from now.... so they can't be too dynamic on outputs to adjust to a fast changing landscape.

For aging, how many years I do not know but it looks like at least four and more for some versions?

Me these days watching the world burn...
I feel sorry for younger folks, but... we're now living in a dystopian nightmare that we don't even realize.
Sure, Trump isn't going to "save" anything or anyone, but the democrats are just as bad or worse.... just in a different way...
It's surreal
