Yes.
You are wrong. Having an attitude about it isn't going to change that.

Apparently, I'm not wrong. But anyways, in all seriousness, how do you expect me to react to a thread on this subject? The fact of the matter is that I was hit by a drunk driver who was speeding and because of that, I almost died. I wonder how you would feel surviving an accident as horrible as that. I'm sick of being treated as a criminal when I didn't do anything wrong. He ruined my entire life and people are questioning whether or not he should be charged? Yeah, I guess it's a touchy subject for me.
You weren't being treated as a criminal. Your incident was being speculated about, in the absence of any concrete information. You have provided your side of it.

If you are waiting at a red light for a good length of time and it doesn't turn green it's treated as a malfunctioning light. This usually happens happens late at night / early morning when traffic is at a minimal and the switch is triggered by the weight of the car. Bikes don't activate the switch cause they are not heavy enough. Ie harbored and shaw. If you are at that light wading south pass midnight it won't change unless a car is waiting with you or you get off the bike (I believe this is illegal but could be wrong) and push the walk button.
whhhhaaaattttt? Glad your ok but let's be honest, somewhere you did something wrong (illegal or not) to be involved in an accident.

What does this have to do with your point that you can go after waiting at a timed red light? That is still wrong.
The only thing thats apparent is you have a problem with being told you are anything but right.
Did I say it was timed? No.
I do believe you are allowed to run the red if the light is on a timer and doesn't change after a significant amount of time but really?
When an impaired driver takes you out it's somehow your fault too?
Are you new??
really?
Not entirely but somewhere in the cause of the accident yeah. Unless the drunk driver was chasing you down and targeted to hit you then no. But any other reason you played a part in it, ie, be in the wrong lane, not paying attention to what's going on around you, speeding whatever ever the case you played a part in that accident and of your dumb enough to think you did absolutely nothing wrong your guaranteed to be in another accident.
Oh, my mistake. I meant sensor. Just like the one at the bottom of Leslie at Eglinton. It's a sensor as well which is the one I was referring to when I initially made that post. I beg your forgiveness! Give me a ****ing break!
I know I said I wouldn't respond anymore but I had to here.. Somewhere I did something wrong, huh? *sigh* Not every accident victim is at fault otherwise there would be no need for "NO FAULT" insurance. Let's hope none of you experience what I've had to go through. I'm sure you'd be singing a different tune if that was the case.
I'm done with you 'fellow riders.'
Interesting. I went when I had a green light and a drunk driver t-boned me while he was speeding. Guess that's my fault. I should be thrown in jail!
About 2 years ago I t-boned a guy who ran a stop who was under the influence. Bike was written off, medics on the scene could not believe I Remained conscious, Couldn't walk for almost 2 weeks, had to undergo surgery, blah blah blah..
Yeah the guy is an idiot, got charged and te whole deal but as a rider there where plenty of things I could have done to prevent the accident.
Usually someone who behaves as decisively as you are usually has something there not telling. Only you will know.
Be safe
No you should be thrown in jail but think about the mistakes you made.
Stopped at the red then proceeded when it turned green?
Where you approaching a green light an didn't have to stop?
Did you approach a stale red role off the throttle then proceeded when it turned green?
Share the details as you remember them and I'm sure anyone here can give you advise as to where you went wrong. Not to throw you in jail but to share the info so it can be avoided in the future.
