I'm a Tough Mudder

The part about running through "live electrical cables".....

is that for real? it be funny watching everyone get zapped.

The electro shock is real. I got hit a few times, makes your muscle tense up. Feeling it today.

Saw a guy go through get hit, fall, and get hit a bunch more on the ground, he was twitching but managed to drag himself off and through.

I think some people are conductive than others. I found if you run you aren't touching the ground as much.

That guy you saw might have been me :( I was sprinting through it and for some reason, the shock took me out completely whereas for most ppl it was just a sting.

Finished in 2.5 hrs. A lot of it is spent waiting at lineups at obstacles, and of course, gotta help our your fellow mudders :)

Why? I'd rather have a beer.

I had a very refreshing beer afterwards :) Its just a way of challenging yourself beyond everyday life and seeing how far you can go without quitting. You either get it or you dont.

Finished as well. I'm fairly fit and work out a **** ton...and I found the biggest problem was not explosive strength, it was the amount of up hills. In the end I wasn't even afraid of the electric eel or shock therapy, I was just afraid of my legs seizing up. Seized up twice, was on the floor and ppl had to come help me =( My gf said my calf looked like a tumor.

BUT I ****ING FINISHED IT.

To everyone that is going to ask why or give some retarded comments undermining our efforts: "BECAUSE WE'RE TOUGH MUDDERS AND YOU'RE A PUSSY" =D

The electric eel was the worst compared to the last obstacle (didn't get hit at all).

I got zapped so many times during the eel because the person crawling beside me was pushing the wires and splashing water left and right.

Bingo!

Ya, I was starting to cramp up in a calf as well. Next time I'm gonna drink more water - forgot that. I figure we had it a bit easier yesterday. Can you imagine if it was raining, the hills would be brutal. Or if it was 35 degrees. I figure it was the perfect weather for the perfect event...

...and it was TOUGH.

I better start training for next years.

First 12 kilometres was a walk in the park. I'm pretty sure Toronto had one of the toughest obstacle courses just because we were walking up ski hills (i.e. black diamonds).
I'm also pretty sure they replaced some of the obstacles like the balance beam and 3 feet fires with the hills probably for safety purposes.

Yeah...the simultaneous reactions were pretty fun. Everyone going up a hill, hits a flat corner and goes "YAY it's over", turn around the corner, see a 70 degree hill "****!!"

I'd still rather have a beer.

You're beer would taste much better after a mudder.

It's okay, the ones who don't go or don't make it wouldn't understand lol

My group all agreed, that cup of beer at the end was the best beer we ever drank...not to mention half us got tipsy for a little bit after lol, must have been the empty stomach and everything hurting.

K. Keep patting yourself on the back. Let me guess, you're gonna say if I don't dragon boat/paddle, I'm a pussy too. Lol.

I get it, you're proud of your achievement, and you should be. Just don't expect ppl to care, especially if you call them pussies.

I wanted to be hip and cool and different to everyone else...so I didn't do a tough mudder or get a tattoo.

hmmm its not the average joe that can do tough mudder

You don't see a whole lot of camaraderie in the GTAM community (I'm referring to the forums, it's different on the road I guess, even then I still get the feeling that the motorcycle community is so "exclusive") ... which brings me to my next point that only a select few on these forums would actually be able to do tough mudder, not because of those who are not limited to physical walls, but because of the support and energy that was at this event ...
