I followed supercap news and tech for quite some time a while back but it soon became evident the hype and never-ending promises of "It's just around the corner" drastically outpaced the realities of the current level of technology.
I wholeheartedly agree. Hell, in 20 years we could all be driving/riding around with fusion reactors powering us. The news around fusion/Tokamak and ITER in particular has been an interesting follow for the last 6 months and I can't help but keep feeling we're on the cusp of something big happening.
But we're not there yet. And even if fusion became reality tomorrow it would probably still be 10 years at the bare minimum before it would find its way into consumer applications.
