I Saw You: V.2.0

To the clown lane splitting, doing burnouts at stop lights and pathetic wheelies on queensway by Sherway gardens today around 1 pm. My wife and her friends were laughing at you. You don't look cool. U are a douche. You're not impressing anyone with your dangerous antics. Black/orange ktm or Ducati she thinks.

Red ZX-6 track bike being trailered on Islington, have fun this weekend!

Black ZR-6 and a black and red GSXR stopped at the chip truck on 15th Side rd and hwy 25. Good looking bikes. The lady that sells corn ain't bad either. Careful on the 15th. There have been cops hiding all weekend.
Black RoadKing ( I believe) I only saw the front on Guelph Line. Nice chatting with you.
I was on the yellow RK.

To the 10 or so bikes that have flown past my house on hwy27, on the back wheel this weekend.

Please stop. That's a blind hill (that you can't really tell is blind) with an intersection and farm field entrance. It claims at least 2 people per year. I've had enough of running out my front door to see if everyone is OK after an accident. If you feel the need to wheelie there is a valley on both sides of that hill. Easy view of traffic.

I'd like to give a description of bikes but they were going to fast.

Ill take a stab at their description!

Plastidiped GSXRs and ZX6s
License plates flapping around so deep under the seat that theyre closer to the front wheel than the rear
Expired renewal stickers
They all forgot their insurance slips at home
********* vests on all of them
Levis and shorts
T-shirts with saying that include swear words on them

Narrow it down enough? No?

Yesterday late morning, you were heading north on the DVP, green Zx6 I think with really bright yellow lights. I couldn't tell if they were yellow bulbs in the headlights or something else. Looked great, very noticeable!

Exact rider discription for majority. But a couple in full gear. (I couldn't tell different sport bikes if I was sitting on them)

Dude who was pushing his new green ninja 300 down the sidewalk of Mavis at Matheson today after 4pm. What happened there?

Let's hope he just ran out of gas. Happened to me once while I was 400m away from a station!

Guilty over here as well. On my way to fill up. ?

Ironically I was stranded on the 407 entrance ramp today because I was out of gas :p

Hypothetically speaking, if you run out of gas mid turn while taking a turn relatively hard, would you run wide not being able to throttle out?

Coming from my understanding of physics, it's actually quite the opposite. Where centripital forces are present, the velocity of the object is proportional to the radius from the center of the turn. In other words, by slowing down, you are reducing the distance needed to complete the turn. So no, you would not run wide and most likely the opposite would occur, provided you could maintain your lean.

It is super freaky twisting the throttle and not feeling the engine give anything though.

By running out of gas, aren't you essentially chopping the throttle totally off which is why people run wide?

Depends upon how quick the deceleration is. A slow deceleration and the weight of the bike will overcome centripetal forces, allowing the bike to fall deeper into the turn. Too quick a deceleration and the centripetal force overcomes the weight of the bike, throwing it upright and causing it to run wide.

There are more forces involved here than just the lateral, and leaning is turning ;)

For some reason, possibly the sudden uphill, or perhaps the electronics in my SV, when I was twisting, there was literally no response from the engine. I managed to pull to the side and tried to pull throttle in neutral, it did for a bit properly, but then slowly gave off and would not respond at all.

Let me have my glorifying physics moment! Thanks for the input, I knew there was some issue to my thinking there :p My concept would apply better to a car that's turning with the wheels locked with no down force to be considered (because that's useful :p).

Was complimented on the sound of my bike from a gentleman on what looked to be a brand new Multistrada. I consider that high praise, I love the sound of a Duc!

Traffic light at Bayview and Moore Thursday night. Didn't see what you were riding because of your bright headlight, but you had on a blue/white Joe Rocket jacket. You pulled up next to me and asked how to get to Leslie. I said go right at the next intersection, which I was thinking was Eglinton. Realized later there's a couple of small ones before it. Hope you found it!

You looked very well ventilated on your blue/white GSXR sitting in traffic on Spadina wearing a tank top, shorts and flip flops while I was sweating buckets of miserly in my full black gear in the heat. But your girlfriend on the back was looking even cooler than you because she decided that there is no point to wearing a helmet if 90% of your body's skin is exposed anyways. She knew what she was doing with that helmet wrapped around her elbow - when in doubt, save the elbow!!!
