I Saw You: V.2.0

lol... You guys are insane.
I was sliding in my car, can't imagine how stable the bike was when it's that bad out!
Never mind the freezing temps!

Been out 11 times in the past 13 days without issue. Parking lots can be a bit of a challenge, but the roads haven't been.

How does your bike last sitting in -10 weather for hours? Does it start up just fine?
my bike barely starts if left outside for more than an hour in <5 degs

A full day at -10c, no problem. -14c, not much of a problem.

A full day at -16c, it has a real problem. The bike would start up perfectly fine, for as long as I had my finger on the starter. As soon as I removed my finger, bike would shut off. After about 8 failed experiments on the first day, I found I had to hold my finger on the starter for about 10 seconds, reving around 6000rpm before it would stay running. After a few failed experiments on the second day, did the 10s thing again and it stayed running.

Before both -16c starts, I had also gotten my oil changed out with .. 5w40 fully synth (from the usual 10w30). Supposedly less viscous, might help a little bit until the engine warms.

I saw some type of naked/streetfighter something turning WB on Dundas from Appleby yesterday around lunchtime.

My first thought was 'dude?!?!? It's freezing out' But then my next thought was "F***!! I have to take mine out on Thursday to move to my new house and I'm sure it won't be any warmer"

Haha, that was probably me heading to my sister's place for dinner. Good luck on Thursday, it's supposed to be soggy (last I checked).

What are the odds of that at this time of year, in this weather?

He was northbound on Yonge, when I saw him.
There is no way he got there that fast. He would have had to catch all greens and have no one in his way.lol

I saw a Cruiser this AM on my Ride to work. I think you were a Virago. You were headed north on Bathurst north of Hwy 9 on the edge of Newmarket. I was southbound on my Black V-Strom and we exchanged waves.

It's rare for me to see other bikes on my ride in and even more rare this time of year.

Go Global Warming!

white cbr 125, leaving york around 340 on pond... in the snow... you my friend have balls

Or... Didn't check the weather forecast before leaving...

Although I left at 3:30pm and didn't see a bike there so I would assume the rider headed out when he/she saw that it started snowing??

My Gal mentioend that Breakfast TV showed a Motorcycle on Toronto Streets this AM.

Anyone from here?

If it's the same clip I saw on BTV, it was (or looked like, anyway) an electric scooter - rider had both feet out as outriggers and was staring intently at the ground about 20 cm ahead of the front wheel.

I used to see a guy riding all winter on his bike. It was a Honda Dual-Sport (CRF240 or something like that.) He was out in snowstorms and all kinds of wild conditions. I met him a couple of times gassing up and it was his only set of wheels. He put snowmobile gear on and out he went. He didn't seem to have any issue riding in that stuff.
I haven't seen him in a couple of years and wonderd if it might be him.

Naked GSXR-600 at Seneca today - I understand you, man. Also your parking lights are on.

Green bike of some sort (could only see the headlight) on 401 westbound near 25 today, probably around 1:45 PM, stuck in the traffic backlog behind that tractor-trailer problem near Kelso. Brrr-rrrrr!! Temperature in my car said 0 on the nose, and it was wet! Someone's much, much braver than I am.
