I Saw You: V.2.0

Heading Northbound on Harwood @ Ringer, Ajax, around 5PM yesterday.

Scanning old posts and look what I find. Me and my brother.

Usually you look at pictures left to right, and proper grammar would be to say my brother and I, but he specifically said me and my brother, indicating he is probably the one on the left ;)

6:40-ish AM, 401 WB, I think I saw Outlaw Justice and his special trailer. I was going 401 EB on my blue Yamaha Vision.

I guess I forgot to turn on the cloaking device! LOL Yup, that was me!

Time: 6:30-6:45
Place: Lakeshore and Fort York-ish
Me: Red/Grey Honda CBR600RR eastbound
You: Westbound, red helmet with no visor (and a beard...props to all the bearded peeps!). Riding an orange bike that looked like a Speed/Street Triple with a fly screen. Cool looking bike; wonder what it was....

Hmm, I wonder how would you let someone know that you don't want them to ride with you in the same lane? Wave your hands around like crazy or just shove them to the side with your clutch hand :)

With the way that people drive/ride in Toronto I don't see a point in even pretending to think that there is YOUR lane. People think that there is some imaginary line or proximity beyond which others cannot go. That's false. Believe me I don't appreciate it when someone lane shares with me, but that's simply the way I see traffic move around here and I am not arguing whether it's wrong or right. I don't think this thread is meant for people to whine or threaten others. Maybe we should have a thread specifically for that ;)

Squid on a blue Yamaha on the 403 West bound just before 9pm tonight, you had buddies with you in a silver SUV.

I don't know you - you obviously don't know me. My passing you was not an invitation to ride RIGHT BESIDE me in MY LANE.

You wanna dodge in and out of traffic at excessive speeds and make cars brake, etc. because of your antics - that's YOUR decision. You get into MY lane, right beside me....then I most definitely have an issue. You EVER pull that crap with me again, I'm calling your plate in myself, got it? I ever see you face to face, I'll be more than happy to reiterate how I feel. Bet on it.

Passed a couple of SSs on my way home around 7:30 west bound 403. First was a silver/grey bike as it just started to rain

Second was a Repsol I waived just before taking the Hwy 6 exit

I was on my F8GS

but it is absolutely her lane....? that imaginary line you talk about would be something called "the law"

+1 what's wrong with letting a douche bag know that he is a douche bag, perhaps he is dumb and can read this and know it or smart and not do it again and save his own life.

People whine about almost every other useless crap all the time, why can't a rider legitimately let someone know how he/she feels about what he/she did that endangered his/her life. No one wants to become a number in a fatality statistic.

Around 11:20 on the 407 E/B just after Yonge, saw a gorgeous bike (assume a CBR600RR or 1000RR) with all the Repsol flair done to it. Always thought it was lame but looks great in person. Kind of funny that you were wearing a Rossi helmet though.

What's funny about that? Rossi became a legend on a Repsol Honda.

I think I made it quite clear I didn't want him beside me...don't you worry about that.

As to sharing my lane; at highway speeds, it's dangerous. Plain and simple. Something happens and one of us swerves, we're BOTH going down. There are plenty of videos online of it happening. I don't know him or how he rides, nor does he know me or how I ride. He has no business riding right beside me without my consent.

Whether you feel it's "that there is some imaginary line or proximity beyond which others cannot go" isn't even an issue; fact is, lane splitting is illegal in Ontario. So you are in fact the one who is mistaken.

As to my posting regarding the situation, I'm not whining, I'm pointing out a dangerous situation that one rider took it upon himself to impose on an unwilling participant. He needs to be told before he does it to someone else, endangering others - you seem to have completely skimmed over the part where I said I saw cars slam on their brakes due to his erratic lane weaving. This guy is going to cause an accident with his selfish behavior.

Odds are fairly good he is on this forum or friends of his are, they are more than welcome to pass along my comments.

Agreed. Just because people behave badly, in the Toronto area, that doesn't mean that you have to accept it. In fact if you do accept it, it just gets worse.

All jokes aside, my first statement was simply to inquire as to what is the best way to let someone know that you don't want to ride along side in the same lane. How did you let him know that you didn't like it? Did you think it would be simply sufficient to post here?

Regarding lane splitting, I think you misunderstood me, I was referring to the fact that when it comes to driving and riding I have seen enough people break the law that you cannot really count on it as being a guiding factor in real life driving. My argument is not whether the law is there or not or right or wrong. It's simply that when enough of the drivers break it on a daily basis, then the law is not useful to rely on. In real life I found that people do think that there is a certain amount of space around their vehicles that is their personal space (like the space to your side) and maybe legally that is so, but when you drive/ride, you cannot really count on people respecting that. That is why I find it useless to call something MY LANE.

Regarding the whining and threatening, i will have to disagree with you. The reason I called it whining is because it's personal to you. You pointed out earlier that don't really care enough to threaten or report him if he rides dangerously with others. You appear to only care about what he did to you and this is where it becomes biased. I find that Toronto drivers/riders in general don't really care of others break the law as long as it doesn't offend them. If it offends them they quickly bring in the "illegal" argument to justify why someone else is bad. This is why I consider you to be whining because it's your own personal issue with him. Tons of other drivers cut us off and go into "OUR" lanes on a daily basis with far worst outcomes because they would actually hit us but we don't complain about it much less threaten.

Regarding his friends or him being on the forum; odds are that if he didn't have respect for you then, he won't have it now. I don't think you are posting it for his friends to see because some of them were right there (SUV) and they are probably just like him. Threatening other riders is something that IMHO I don't see ending up to anything good.

You: Two SS riders headed north on Jane Street, near Teston Road in Vaughan yesterday afternoon around 4:30.
Me: Riding a red Yamaha Stryker, going south.

A big thank you to the dude in full white gear and helmet, for the helmet tap. I saw the cop hiding on the left, right after the speed limit changed. Might have saved me a speeding ticket.
