I Saw You: V.2.0

As far as I know, travelling on the left tire track with parked cars on the same road is legal. Can anyone prove or disprove?

not entirely sure its legal. cause they pulled him over fairly quick. and when i started to move into that lane they were pretty quick to react until they realized i was parking.

but yes please if someone can confirm this it would be great.

I was told during my RTI course that this is legal. I do it downtown all the time without issue

If it's an actual lane and of sufficient size, then it's legal. If it's all a single lane, then it isn't.

how do you define this " significant size " ? - I do it on the danforth and kingston rd when there are parked cars.

Where: HWY 48 past High Road.

you: haggard looking HD, wearing Outlaws MC cut.
Me: Black zzr600

- you sure can ride that harley, was fun for a while down 48, but i clearly saw a speed trap situation coming up as a community area was coming up and it dropped to 50 and i saw opp on side of the road, i tapped my helmet several times and droped behind you and slowed to 50 leading up to the sign, but you just ripped her, droped gear and blew past the cops doing atleast 140 in a 50. they didnt even bother moving, I laughed.

never seen a 1% in real life, what a goof

lol I doubt there would be any 1%ers here but interesting share.

I said "sufficient size", not "significant size" ;)

If the remaining area of the lane is wide enough for it to be done in safety, then it's of 'sufficient size.' Typically something like a lane and a half wide curb lane, with parked cars, should be fine unless you actually collide with something. I find that Church Street south between Carlton and Shuter is fine for this, as long as only regular cars are parked along the curbside. A delivery truck screws it up.

I try to take advantage of the wide right lanes as well, but you'll frequently find cyclists and taxi drivers trying to hog the space there first. Cyclists I can understand when they ride respectfully, but the taxi drivers virtually lane-split most of the time and I've had a number of run-ins with idiots that couldn't fit into the lane and came close to side-swiping me. So exercise a little extra caution regardless, if you will be using this section of road.

Cyclists are entitled to that area and are more used to dealing with the potential 'door prize' than are motorcyclists. If there are cyclists there, leave it to them.

The taxi drivers who do that are just idiots. They don't want anyone who can take advantage of that space to get around them, before they can jump back into the clear curb lane after the parked cars, so they block. Happens to me on a fairly frequent basis, in areas where I can otherwise use that space safely. Hell, they'll cover both lanes coming up to intersections on Yonge Street, so that they can take advantage of whichever lane starts moving first at the lights! :angry5:

yeah yeah, I rode squid to work today and will be doing the same thing on my way back.. is damn hot so don't go saying.. I saw a Kawy 250 green with a guy on a green shirt riding squid!

You: red & silver SS, pulled over in the westbound left turn lane at Birchmount & Sheppard about 4:15pm today by a motorcycle cop.

Me on my V-Strom turning west.

Hope it wasn't anything serious. I've never seen those guys on main roads before, especially around here.

Beautiful yellow BMW K1 on Derry Road westbound, at West Drive, around 5:00pm tonight. Damn, what a sweet bike. So unique looking that they only had to add some fairing flares, to turn it into a superhero's bike back in 1990 (the absolutely horribly named "Super Force").

upper wentworth and fennel around 930...
yellow(i think) sports bike with, i swear to god this is what i saw, a 2-up girl at the handles and a dude riding *****. if my eyes werent crazy poor guy

Saw a sweet Vulcan last night. Round 730 ish. Hurontario and brittania. You got on the highway. East bound. Sweet ride. Thought it was a Harley at first.

This morning around 745. Orange ninja I think. We chatted you live in my neighborhood. MSG me if you get this we can do some riding.

Me as usual on my gsxr 1100. Blue and white

Parked at work yesterday with an evo black beside me and a white Ducati. Anyone know what kind of Ducati the white one is? Never seen that before.

That there be some kind of custom, you can juuust barely make out of kind of badge on the right fork. I feel like I recognize what that front rotor is from, kinda distinctive, but drawing a blank.

Pretty sure it's not actually a Ducati though.

I'm no expert but the white one looks like a 999 model.

Okay, I'm 90% sure that the white bike is a Derbi GPR 50 with the lights from a 749/999.

Edit: Wow, nope. Just a 2004-ish Derbi GPR 50 with a paint job - I KNEW I'd seen those lights somewhere before, started to doubt myself lol.
