You plan on riding with the chinbar up?I was worried about this ? I suspected that the air friction while that thing was up will tilt your head back painfully at speeds of 80 km/h and up. But I read more than 30 reviews on it on Amazon and NOBODY said this thing tilts your head back.
I also wonder how does the red LED stoplight on the helmet communicates with your bike? Or does this thing only blinks like a bicycle helmet? What kind of batteries? Two "AA" batteries? How long do they last?
To be fair, it's a $130 convertible. I hold very little faith that the chinbar will stay locked down if you bang it. I think of it as a 3/4 helmet with integral bug deflector. You plan on riding with the chinbar up?
The helmet is not certified for that.
Only very few flip up helmets are....I only know of the Shark Evo

I believe you're correct. That's the one I have, and the chin bar actually flips all the way to the back, so it's not providing extra drag. You plan on riding with the chinbar up?

One of the best features of the Shoei GT-Air II helmet. This is exactly what I'm planning to do, in the city lid up, in highway or above 80 km/h the lid down. Now lets see how it will fit me, if I can't wear this thing for more than 3 hours without getting a headache then I will keep it. That's a major problem I have with helmets, most of them give me headaches, except a Taiwanese helmet I bought overseas but the color does not match my current bike.
i swore after having one in my k3-sv that i'd never buy another lid without it. meh.One of the best features of the Shoei GT-Air II helmet.
Gives you full protection of a full face helmet but allows you to have the internal visor down to protect you from bugs while providing great air ventilation at lower speeds.

I have the 900. It converts from modular to 3/4 by switching chinbar for an included peak. Only used it for really hot weather on the wing.It comes in different colors, When i bought mine last yr it was around 300

Look out Lightcycle will be here in a minute throwing around the B word.Just got the Rf-1400
this might be the most expensive helmet i've purchased, but by all accounts its stellar
as long as there is no pressure points you should be OK.The helmet is tight(as it should be)
but boy when I try to take it off, makes me feel like I got barack obama ears
