I GOT my SHOT

I'll wait until the crowd thins out.

The night I went in Port Perry there was nary a crowd. To the contrary there was unfilled appointments and empty seats....that was days before they finally decided that opening up things to more high risk eligibilities and essential workers made more sense as opposed to having empty seats.

It's still a pretty smooth system though if you go to one of the clinics - you pick a time, arrive 5-10 minutes before, and you're in and out in 15-20 minutes. I was literally out in 20 the night I went and people I talked to who were there earlier in the day during the busier hours said the same thing.

Reminder, Peel Region is opening up registration to any resident of Peel over 50 on Monday 12 April, doesn't matter the postal code, and it was stated on the news today that their plan is to drop that age by 5 years each week for the next little while. It essentially means us folks living in the hot spots (which probably account for most of the population of Peel Region anyhow) got a head start on registration by a few days. I don't know if this will be via the provincial system but it surely will be through COVID-19 vaccine - Region of Peel or through Trillium https://thp-public.vertoengage.com/

They seem to be backlogged by 2-ish weeks. I'm thinking that they want to keep the appointment books full. It means they're getting as many people through as they can.

Went to Welland today and got my father in law booked for a vaccine.

Makes me think that some are not getting the shot, because of the way the information is given out, and the annoyance factor of trying to book an appointment.

Government site insisted on having a cell number, and would not process the application without one. FIL has a landline. My wife ended up using hers, but his email address. You shouldn't have to workaround this stuff, at this point in time. @油井緋色 needs to start working for the gov't.

Happy to say MIL got her shot and feeling good. Will monitor in the coming days.

I tried to get a shot, asked 3x, and they said no because I’m too young:( they can give out excess shots, but not to people below the age threshold. Seems like a waste to me.

this is why I havent even bothered, Id love to get one but dont think people in their early 30s are a priority

Father in law's new spouse probably won't get one. She's a 80 something lung cancer survivor shut in. Isn't really able to leave the house any more. Government needs some kind of program so that these folks don't slip through the cracks, although if father in law gets two, she'll probably be as safe as she can be. Both of them are beyond their life expectancy at this point, according to the doctors.

Someone I know got the AZ shot at 11:30 Sunday and then woke up Monday morning feeling like a total bag of crap (sore all over). Took her a day to get over it but aok now. She had similar symptoms to the flu shot years ago.

I got a text yesterday from Shoppers (AZ shot) saying I could book for this Friday but I think I'll wait until the Ontario booking for high risk postal codes comes my way (I registered a few days after registering for the Shoppers one when the former became available).

If the Ontario/Peel shot booking doesn't come my way before #2 text from Shoppers does, I'll likely just take the Shoppers shot.

FWIW, my wife and her colleagues felt that way after the Pfizer shot. My guess is that they all picked a dose that they knew would work as failed clinical trials would not be acceptable. Given time to refine and run more studies, I suspect the dose would be smaller and therefore less side effects.

I'm booked for tomorrow aft , its a bit of a psychological thing, but I'm feeling pretty good about getting the shot, 80% safe is just fine.

Now i know I'll still need a hard hat to walk the dog so the chemtrails and cloud seeding cant penetrate my brain , but I'm pretty stoked.

Are they offering a euthanasia shot instead?

No doctor has the right to comment on when a person has had enough from life's buffet.

Don’t forget the tinfoil inside the hard hat!

She is an edge case that should get picked up eventually but is hard to prioritize now. There are limited healthcare staff available. In the time it took someone to drive to her, inject her and drive to the next one, they could have injected 10 people or more at a clinic. She is reasonably safe staying at home if he gets vaccinated. Hopefully once the majority are shot, the gov't will spin up a system to catch these cases. Maybe even something like AZ with CCAC so they can inject her while on a normal care visit could work in the near term.

Are they putting in a 5G receiver or transmitter? If you put your head inside a parabolic reflector and they put in a transmitter, isn't that going to fry your brain?
Don’t know. I’ll check with our telecom provider....*shrug*

Logic had no place here...please stop it!

Current Canadian life expectancy is 82.66. Person in question is 86.
No one was trying to take them away from the buffet.
After a certain age, invasive procedures may be more likely to kill you than not having them, or make the rest of your time not as fulfilling.
