Pakistan and North Korea have nukes too. Iran wants the same kind of power and leverage...who wouldn't?

Anyone who thinks Iran would use a nuke is insane. Its absolute suicide. The power comes with possession of such a weapon...not through use.

Israel is more against them than anybody. So much so, they are threatening war. I think, as u mentioned, they are scared they would get a better leverage against them.
 
Much like Bush used nukes as an excuse to go into Iraq, Israel is trying the same tactic with Iran...and the Israeli lobby in the US is tugging the same strings. Its pathetic really that the west is so tied to Israel...
 
Israel and Iran remind me of the 2 weakest geekiest kids in the playground talking smack about one other but are too scared to fight. Seriously...grow a pair and take a swing so we can be finished with all this drama.

Yeh, same question I have too. My only reason is probably because of the dominant Jewish population in the US.

If u ask me, I would say Israel has been pushing their weight around the middle east for too long and nobody has much of a reaction
Surprisingly even China is siding with the Americans. Due to trading ties, I suppose

The world economy is so closely linked right now. For eg. China & US. When one becomes affected, the other one automatically becomes affected. In fact, when Iran takes a fart, the price of oil goes up even though we have oil here in Canada. War is always not a wise decision if it can be avoided

They hate each other bitterly and just like a brother and sister fight, sometimes you just got to let them scrap to establish who's the boss. I bet it won't even last longer than 7 days. :)
 
Id put money on the president of Iran droppin a nuke on Israel as soon as they develop one. That guy just seems like a caaarazy religious nut. Not to mention selling anything they can to terrorist groups for brownie points with their god. Mind you I have a feeling Israel will intervene well before Iran actually get to that point.

Actually, he's not really the religious nut there..the Islamic Council is. It's a very odd system of government there..I don't think the army is controlled by the legislature there. There's a real power struggle in that country..for money..between the army and others. The president has been at odds from time to time for not being religious enough and promoting nationalism. And I think Israel is only one country over there worried about Iran's efforts at gaining regional dominance. It's a mess in a very sensitive part of the world.

Iranians are normal progressive people. Their way of life is very western-like and they dont have it all that bad economically either, with all things considered.

Theres nothing to be gained, and everything to be lost. Its a ridiculous notion. They want a nuke for political reasons. They're not gonna use it. I almost hope they get one so Israel will shut up. New balance of power.
 
I really don't want to see this war happen, but it would be interesting to see which countries would hop on the pro Israel side and which on the pro Iran side. It reminds me of the recent Iraq vs US; a war based on what if's, and accusation's.

You're forgetting that you're talking about a part of the world in which it's not only OK, but gets you a free ticket into heaven, if you walk into a market and blow yourself up. "Insane" is a relative, not absolute term.
 
RockerGuy is one of those ignorant opinionated fools... no reasoning will make a difference, because he is fueled not by reason but by hate. With just a little knowledge it's clear how silly he sounds.

Anyway, this thread isn't heading anywhere good, that's my two cents, now I'm out of this one.

Dropping a nuke on a Country that is only 1000 miles away.

Kinda like doing a dutch oven on yourself, but instead of sniffing the fart odour it would be the radiation filling your lungs.
