How much Eco stuff can we afford?

My buddy Oscar is from Norway . He lives here in Canada . Has for 38 yrs . He visits Norway , likes it . Lives in Canada .

ICE will be forced into a slow death , but let’s look a lithium mining , nickle mines and the process of making carbon fiber and batteries and the recycling of batteries . It’s different than oil , but let’s not pretend there is no down side .

Taxed the same across North America correct me if i'm wrong
ICE being cheapest is the point, Norway has always been high tax on ICE so EV appears cheap there in comparison but how many other nations could do that? If EV's were half the price of an ICE car here in Canada all you'd see is EV's here as well.
The stats from other countries aside from Norway are more realistic imo
EVs are not taxed the same across NA as they are not paying the road taxes in the gas/diesel costs. Purchase incentive programs are also a form of reverse tax as taxpayer money goes to the EV buyer. Of course anything going to the oil industry is also different....but all said and done not taxed the same.

At least in the case of EVs the subsidies are going directly to the end purchaser, instead of supporting an already wildly profitable commercial enterprise.

Interesting interview with Triumph e-moto engineer (TE-1 project) - hear what he has to say about possible best use case of ev-moto, range expectations and time lines..
