How do you keep your legs warm in fall/early winter?

Cold = long johns
Colder = long johns + chaps
Coldest = long johns + chaps + rain suit

Extra double cold = take the car

Try snowmobile suit, good until -30, I even tried it down to -40 (on a snowmobile) :p just dont crash, it wont last long.

In the late fall I wear my splash pants over my Jeans - In the winter when it is less the -5, I will put my ski pants over my Jeans.
A snow mobile suit would also keep one warm on extreamly cooled days.

I put some more pants on over my other pants. Just like any other time I need to be warmer... just put more layers. Generally, since my 2 pc is rather tight, I will squeeze one pair of jeans inside, wear the perfed leather pants, then a larger pair over the top. Might wear my rain gear to block the wind too if its really cold.

Layers rule.

Feet were okay today - liner socks plus different thermal socks - was 11 tho so not as cold.

Wore my light jeans with good poly long johns - was okay at this temp ( just not as bulky as the kevlar jeans )

Getting used to the ballistic jacket - still like my mesh with liner for light and flexible but being able to wear less under this is a good thing...nicer at the destination. So just cotton shirt and a T under the jacket - very comfie.

The dickie with the bibs front and back really helps around the neck - don't know why I did not use it much in the past. - I don't have to be so fussy about getting the neck sealed. It's a good bit of gear.

I could have used some last night... My gaunlets, leather jacket, helmet and boots, kept those parts warm... But cold air was hitting my neck and going up my pants. Just wearing jeans, my legs were so cold. At least my butt was warm even with a wet seat... my exhausts are high mount and gave off a lot of heat.

Shopping list: balaclava, those pants straps and rain pants.

Aerostich suit and layering. Generally speaking it's only my hands that I feel cold in, and even them not so much, so I installed a set of Barkbusters on my ER.

Snowmobile racers wear leather suits, they are insulated well, pretty comfy and built for cold. They tend to be covered with some horrible graphic designs so YMMV. Everyone feels cold a bit different so what works for one guy doesnt cover everybody, I bought a helmet liner balaclava that goes down inside my jacket and keeps the breeze off my neck.
I have really good leather snowmobile gloves, the feel on the bike controls isn't perfect but its better than cold fingers for feeling. Its the wind chill effect that kills me, block the wind and i'm usually ok
