You are 100% correct
@Jampy00 and stuff like this should have been caught. However...it's very difficult to know something is amiss unless there's regular checkups.
Now...what constitutes a requirement for a health check? Every child? Every child in a split household? Where's the line? Should the gov't be coming to my house to check on the welfare of my children?
You are correct though. There should be a system to catch the issues while they are happening to prevent escalation and tragedy as in this poor child's short life.
This is by no means an argument reply, I 100% agree with your comments, they are 100% correct.
I certainly don't have all the answers, but safe to assume at least one of the following:
Kid goes to school
Kid sees a doctor
Kid has other family members
Kid is seen in public
Family is in the system
Family has been involved with CPS
Family has friends, co-workers, etc.
Family has been seen in public
This situation did not go from nothing to murder in a single day, this kid has been seen multiple times with bruises, cuts, black eyes etc. also there would be phycological signs, kid is withdrawn, lashes out, etc.
The difficulty lies in someone seeing something (reports it) only to find out there is nothing there, they then become the problem and most people don't want to be a problem or create one.
So I 100% agree it is very difficult to spot, in some very sad way it's just easier to wait until they kill the kid and lock them up...
This is a trend we'll only see increase as the quality of lives continue to decrease.
