Home made beef jerky. YUM!

Just started makin jerky this year. Partly because I enjoy cooking & preparing food, but mostly to offest the cost of super expensive jack links. I found a recipe on the internet somewhere, and ill post it up when I find it. I dried the strips in my oven at 160. Usually takes 8-12 hours depending on the thickness I cant keep this stuff past 2-3 days its so popular with everyone.

That's how I usually do mine. I usually keep the oven door open a crack to keep the heat down a little lower. Helps heat the house in the winter and the smell drives the dog nuts. lol

just did my third batch last night. so good. today is the last day of the sale at Fresh co. roasts are $1.97/lb

anyone still making this? I'm eating some right now and its so good..lol

Was just thinking about this the other day. My GF is a flight attendant and she took some to work with her. It was a hit with all the other broads there too. I love the stuff. It just takes some effort to prepare.

Not doing Jerky right now, but I got a road kill doe last week and sent it off to be corned. Should get it back in about two weeks. I'll let you guys know how that tastes.

Got the corned venison back, and boiled up a chunk. Tastes really good. Difficult to discern between it and corned beef.

I remember when this thread was started, and just like then, re-reading it now makes me hate all you due to intense pangs of hunger.

That's right. Hate. You. All.
