Hit and run!!!

If you need that many fairing pieces its very likely your well over $2000 in damage not including labor...Youd be surprised how much those fairings cost, especially since you have the FIAT replica!

We did an 08 CBR 600RR graffiti edition insurance claim earlier this year, the customers bike was backed into in a parking lot and tipped over just like yours. Damage was not even noticeable from 5ft away, and the claim was just over $5000 for insurance parts and labor...I was actually very surprised that they didnt write it off at that price, her insurance waived her deductible also...

same thing happened to me.
exactly.
fairings are expensive and take a little of time to put them on.
my deduct was also waived.
car backed into my bike knocked it over.

Thats wicked news.. You gotta give a big thanks to your witnesses (if you have their details) to let them know that the little thing they did (getting her plate number) made a huge difference.

It's great when justice is served. Hopefully you get the bike back in shape in no time.

I just wonder what will happen to the old fairings? I mean, it'd be cool if you could get them back somehow to use as spares or maybe fix/resell them??

Thats good. Thats the way it should be.

I think you owe the witness a case of beer.

If uninsured and the driver has been ID'ed, if the OP has to pay the deductable why can he not file for recovery in small claims?

Nah...you will be fine...

but really...damage in the 2K range?

for a cracked front fender and side fairing?

but your not paying for it...who cares...

I would just add a 0 beside (20K) and charge it to their insurance.

oem yamaha plastics are expensive

If identified and uninsured, op would have had to pay a $300 uninsured motorist deductible not his own collision deductible. Insurance in Ontario is designed to move quickly so as to not plug up the courts with small lawsuits. I'm not saying that I think anyone in that situation deserves to pay $300 because someone else is irrespossible....it's just how the system works.

I see a lot of small claims suggestions on this board. But keep in mind that small claims is really for at least a few thousand dollars if not 10 +

anyone going to small claims for under 1 grand is just doing it for the satisfaction, its totally not worth it from a cash recovery perspective.
