High Kms on a 250???

Ahh okay i see, im asking the owner to send a picture as i didnt get one when i looked at the bike, and im 99% sure it didnt start with a 3. That being said i now know its a mistake, but the girl selling it told me that each year she reported to the ministry the kms when registering the bike and what not and she has it registered at 130k since she clearly didnt know how to read it. So now when i try to sell the bike in a few years the ministry will have the kms listed at well over 130K, is this a big deal?

If thats true its a major facepalm.

I don't know if the ministry will let you change that.

On one hand, assuming that is true, you could buy the bike and use that error to negotiate the price down. But when you sell it its still going to read 130k on your sellers package I believe, although feel free to correct me on that. I havent memorized the sellers package. Whenever I have registered a bike though they always ask me for the kms I am sure of that. So I assume its recorded.

Maybe someone else can chime in though. Thats a bit of a sticky situation.

Not when you do it online, there's a place on the paperwork though.

I'm pretty sure they ask the mileage for any vehicle when renewing your plate sticker
Went to renew my sticker in Nov. Planned to fill out paperwork when in line. Walk in, place is empty. Get greeted by 3 employees. I apologize for not having stuff filled out. She says np and just makes up numbers. Ymmv.

I believe they do ask, but they don't record it. I don't think the uvip for a motorcycle has any km on it.

So if i buy the bike and then try to sell it, the next buyer wont see anywhere the previous reported kms?

Honestly it was a serious question i can send you the link to the kijiji ad where the owner has the kms posted at 110 000, are you sure the kms roll over at 99,000? or is this just a good guess, i will post a pic of the odometer but even the owner who is an experienced rider said it has 130 000kms.

do post a pic as soon as you can, like I said its impossible for it to be at 130,000 km so I'd like to see what it does say.

I highly doubt there's someone around here on a newgen 250 that's still in good shape and running with more kms than me.

Some people just can't distinguish the difference between the numbers 10,000 and 100,000... Is the ability to read numbers correctly still considered 'math'? Seems like many lack this skill now.

Kind of shows with the number of cashiers I run into now that don't know what to do, or say "you gave me too much money" when your bill is $2.05 and you give $5.05...

That being said, OP said that the previous owner gave those numbers and reported those numbers to the MOT.

Could be due to dyslexia, Einstein was dyslexic. It has little relation to how smart you are.

You're right, reading the odo properly could be due to dyslexia. Though, being dyslexic doesn't effect basic math skills mentioned later in my post (which in retrospect doesn't apply if it really is due to a learning disability). Unless the person has dyscalculia...

If someone is dyslexic, it can be understood, but making the assumption that everybody that can't read properly is dyslexic isn't really the way to go about it.
I know many people who just "don't care" when it comes to learning and educating themselves. "Their, they're, there, they're all the same, no one cares how you spell it" - heard that many times before.

I myself have been diagnosed with a learning disability as well at an early age, although some people excuse the issue, people that don't know will judge anyway. It is something that has to be accepted if you don't want to explain yourself to everyone.

Somebody put some printed paragraphs on FB, upside down and backwards. As a quiz. I read it as fast as regular. I have minimal talent and low IQ so grasping at anything. Was that good? I mean what I did on FB? What thread are we in? Oh. Well.

A learning disability could have contributed to the randomness of the post :P.

This thread has gone waaaay off course.:hiding:

Kinda curious how "good" of a price you're looking at for a "2009 130k km" N250..

This 2012 Ninja 250 with 15k kms is going for $1500 posted 2 days ago.... How much cheaper can you get??

By the end of the week I'll have put another 9000km since then...Not too bad.

I truly believe if I didn't spend all that time in casts when I broke my wrist and the 3 mth suspension in the prime of the season I'd be well over 100k km by now...
