Hey Mechanics and Ford guys, need answers

Don't any of you pussies do your own work? If some monkey can do it then so can you.
At least you wouldn't be on here wining about how much it costs.

This pussy waits for his warranty to be up, so i dont **** up any claims i may have big or small.

After its over, is a different story.

I have two race boats to maintain (no such thing as maintenence warranty) and three bikes ( no such thing as maintenence warranty), if Ford will do my maintenence for around the same price it would cost me, why would I ever take the time to find the hood release?
Only so many hours in a day, gotta pick your fights.

You are giving the dealership 3g's for work that will be performed down the road. They know what, when and how many vehicles will require a given service. They won't do this to lose money. However, some folks just don't know how to budget or save or anticipate for vehicle maintence. $3100 is a substantial amount of cake. Unless you are paying cash, there is interest associated to the additional amount being financed.

You could drop $3k in an RRSP and the tax credit would cover the basic oil changes and light bulbs.

Seems like a lot of dough for the convenience of not having to whip out the debit or credit card.

Me? I'd probably use the cash for more gear or stuff for the bike. That is if my kids don't get to it first.

Anyways, I'm sure there is a benefit to just getting it and not having to worry about it. But, it is three thousand, one hundred dollars.

No suggesting running without a warrenty though. Just look at all the different warrenty options they toss at you and determine what you need.

Cheers.

We all have our favourite brands of vehicle, all of which in my opinion have had recalls, have broken down and have had lemons within their lineups....I get slagged all the time for owning a FORD....I've owned Ford for years, and never had an issue, Im currently running an 08 Fusion that beyond regular maintenance (pads, oil changes, air filter) I have not done a thing to it. Its now at 140K, I think it all comes down to what your experience has been with certain vehicle manufacturers that shape your opinion.

I likely wouldnt pay 3100.00 up front for maintenance, but then again I wouldnt buy an extended warranty either. To each their own.
