Helmet advice!

I love bells photocromatic visors. I really hope other companies start coming out with their own versions soon

Yea I love that thing. I've seen at least one other manufacturer that makes them for other brands but I don't recall the name. There's a separate thread on this around here somewhere.

All I know is HJC better get crackin'. It would be so nice to have one shield that is good for day or night. I'm still working out how I'll be carrying my extra shield with me this coming summer once I grab a dark smoke/mirrored one from the show

I suppose I should just wait until the motorcycle show and try getting a discount

i really like the icon variant, fits me very well, but I'm just thinking it is really open on the bottom and would let in a lot of air....

I like the HJC RPHA 10 Lorenzo Replica Helmet, I think that looks pretty neat... I might make my way out to gp bikes to try some helmets on....

I currently have the joe rocket 1500... Matt black... I like it becuase of the retractable sun visor, but the cheek pads you can pump up is just stupid, the pump is in the front and so it's always touching my mouth :S

I have one as well, the sun visit was nice but I found it to be a PITA to drop down while riding, it never wanted to lock for me. Also with nothing to hold the excess strap I found at high speeds it would slap my neck. Moving from the 1500 to the RPS-10 was a plus in every category for me

I just push the strap into the side of the helmet, stays put at high speeds, but if u forget it does get annoying.

I didn't find the visor to be hard to drop down, I think I mastered it :lmao:
but I got the 1500 for just my first year and my safety course so I think it's time to upgrade ^_^

I picked mine up for the safety course as well, I got a good deal on it so I was happy. Because I'm a winter rider the visor was fogging up way too much, and no fog treatment I could find was helping with it, so I started looking at lids that offered a pinlock system. Thats when I came across the RPS-10

Get an Arai. I just picked up a brand new Vector 2 off of ebay for only $300 including shipping. Deals can be found regularly on Arai's. You just need to be patient and jump on them when you see them.

My previous helmet was an Shoei Rf1000. I thought it was a fantastic helmet, until i tried the Arai. Incredible quality. Their reputation speaks for itself.

I'm liken this helmet alot...Bell Rogue for crusin or street fightin

I like everything about my Shark RSR2 and would like to get a Race-R but I think Shark pulled out of North America.

Want...

The fit is different than the RSR2 unfortunately. I have the RSR2 also and love it. Went to GP yesterday to upgrade to the Race-R and it doesn't fit me well at all (the Vision line doesn't fit either). Only one's that fit me were the new HJC, Shoei RF1100/Qwest, Arai CorsairV. Don't want to spend for the corsair and I've always hated the foggy shoei's so it's a tough call.

Thanks for the heads up

Here's to another RPS-10. Great helmet although a little on the loud side but that will very from rider to rider and bike to bike.

This is the response you get when I'm bored and have an iPhone.

I've used a Symax flip up for years and just got a new Symax 111 in Hi Vis yellow at GP Bike's. Internal sunshade is a treat and the price, at $264 seems to be competitive with U.S. prices + I wanted to try it on to check sizing vs ordering it online. While I've purchased from GP at various shows this was the first time I'd been to the store. They seem to have a fairly good selection of helmets and pricing seems to be relatively competive, especially if you factor in shipping cost + the risk of customs or duty charges being tacked on to a US purchase.

As far as I can tell, Shark has dropped the Race-R; I no longer see it on their website. The only shop I've seen a Race-R is Kahuna. GP has a few Race-R PRO lids. The PRO is very similar to the Race-R, but it has a spoiler, is a few grams lighter, offers different graphics, and costs about two hundred bucks more!

Mr. Hardwrkr13, are you sure you tried on a Race-R at GP? Or perhaps it was a Race-R PRO? Do you recall the price?

BTW, Regder has it correct; the lid he has pictured is, indeed, a Race-R.

Race-R PRO. They only make the PRO now.

I would say the AGV GP-TECH.

royal distributing has solids for 288+tax

that is amazing, considering these are top level lids.
even the rossi replica's are only 450$, when they came out they were double that.

the interior is amazing on those lids, and of course they are the same tier as the corsair v and so on.

also the Sharp ratings are all 5 star on the AGV gp tech's.
