Heads up folks

I buy bikes & I sell bikes. If a bike isn't right for me I flip it. I don't always put it in my name/pay tax before selling it.
Maybe I'm a curbsider....

buying and selling vehicles for profit
You buy/sell them for a loss? Or am I only a dealer IF I make money at it, if I lose money I am no longer a dealer? I was a dealer on THAT bike, but I don't know what I was with the other.
Try again

BUT... IS flipping bikes illegal? Can I, as a private seller, be prosecuted with bill 189?
So far, no on both counts

Maybe you're an anarchist... only your hairdresser knows for sure

You buy/sell them for a loss?

Most people who buy vehicles end up selling them for less than what they bought them for.

Because they use them. Register them in their name (yes, that means taxes). Pay a fee to plate it. Put mileage on them. Do maintenance and buy replacement parts for them. Pay insurance on them. etc.

If you buy and sell vehicles for profit and do none of the above to maximize your gain, you may be a curbsider... [/Jeff Foxworthy]

I think you guys saying it's not illegal should consider that they put a new dash on this bike so that the original mileage around 100K was reduced to 30K. That's a straight-up scam and remains illegal.

I think there's a fair bit of tolerance built in -- if you're disclosing what you're doing and turning over the odd bike, or rolling over parts of your private collection, you're going to be OK. Start flipping cars like a day trader, or rollback an ODO from 101K to 30K (as accused by OP) -- you're in curbsider territory.

Not accused. Paul is a personal friend of mine and I've known this bike back into the early 2010s. I even have video of this bike on track from 2012 when he crashed it on turn 11 at Shannonville right in front of me. The wheels were done because of the damage (that's Paul in the one-piece yellow/white/black leathers)

Sadly it is marked as sold. Someone probably got (*&^(*7ed.

Sorry, sometimes takes a while....
George Chilfor and according to OMVIC, he was a member

Niagara and Windsor are close... southwest of here and places I don't want to visit
He likely got membership the same way that one gets a drivers license number if they get a HTA offense notice before ever obtaining a DL in the first place.
