Has anyone met a scammer?

How much jail time did you serve for this?
I was sentenced to 1 year. I served 6 months and was granted provincial parole (I'm told that never happens), did 3 months parole and finished my sentence early due to "good behaviour". I had 3 years probation after that (expired recently) and still have a 10 year gun and explosives ban (not sure if that started when I was sentenced or when my probation stopped, so either 9 years or 6 years left in that).
I still dont understand how you are not in jail for smuggling guns as is alleged in that brief.
Smuggling isn't the right word. The guns were declared at customs, taxes were paid on them. The guns were fully legal for import into Canada. The only issue is if they were for personal or commercial use. I said the prior, they said the latter. They wanted me to wait 3 years in jail (they waived my bail, threat to the public, not fit for release) before my day in court so I was forced to a plea deal. I really really wanted to fight them on the "possession of prohibited device (high capacity magazine)" as that was the ONLY charge that got me the 1 year sentence (and it was a totally bogus charge too), all the rest were just summary convictions, but the prosecution insisted that because there were "50" of them (high capacity magazines), they had to charge me with at least one of them, and wouldn't remove it from the deal.

So you imported all of these weapons legally and declared all of them for personal use.
Why did they go after you for commercial use?
How do you sell them on personal use with so many weapons especially when you have numerous of the same item?

I bought and sold tons of guns, all time. Would get bored of them easily.

The main factor that they used to determine that it was a commercial transaction instead of personal: Some people pre-paid me for the guns before they were in my possession. That makes it commercial (even though I was selling them at cost, not making $.01 on them).

They said if I had have taken a loan from the bank, bought all the guns, then brought them back and sold them, there would have been no problem. Ummm, lol?

I assume you can't cross the border into the US? Are you flagged by Homeland Security?
I wish it was just homeland security :(

I have charges waiting for me in the US. Export Weapon of War without permit (times 19). They are non-extraditable offences so they can't come get me for them. My lawyer did some inquiries and said they'd expire in 20 years. He also said, as a Canadian, you REALLY don't want to do time in a US prison.

Whoa, I'd say your on the FBI's wanted list. Aren't there bounty hunters after you?
They were paperwork crimes, I doubt they want me that bad ;)

Did he flash your ECU and you are not happy?

Lol, it was flashed to go slower, lol

Sent from my tablet using my paws

I brushed off the guy at Sherway Gardens parking with his sorry a#s story asking for a money, and went in to do some shoping, two hours later I am packing stuff in the trunk in front of COSTCO at Islington/Qeensway and
same guy is walking around the parking asking people for money. I guess he was "operating" at all major retailers in the area. Also had a guy at gas station with a ""story" asking for gas money so he can get home, he had
very old 250 cruiser. I only had $5 in cash in my pocket and without saying anything i handed it out to him, he looked at me so disappointed, mad almost, i guess $20 is minimum you can give to strangers you never meet before. Also white "stereo" van and cheap Armani guy but nothing spectacular i just walked away

Damn, that's a raw deal. Finding gainful employment must be a ***** with a criminal conviction on your record.

I went back to the previous job where I've worked for 17 years. I can get a pardon easy (because it was my first offence), so if I need to switch employment I'll probably go that route.
