looking for a review of the show this weekend
were the new bikes there? namely the MV 675 F3 and Ducati 1199
how were they? sit on them?
how were the deals? or should I drive on past to whitby and visit GPBikes / Royal Dist.?
save the environment and give us all a good reason to venture into to town or stay away and save our pennies till January

How can someone have been to the 2012 show when it's still only 2011? lol. The show this weekend is just titled the Toronto Motorcycle Show. The one next month is the 2012 show.

I'm going to the Toronto show today. The one in January though is better imo. The Dec show is only about new bikes from manufacturers and has more of a feeling of being in line at Futureshop with various salesmen all around pitching their wares. Where as the Jan show has a more laid back feel with older bikes and customs and lots of other things to see. From the photos some people posted of the Toronto show on Friday it didn't look very crowded compared to other years.

I was a bit rushed to get through the show but saw most of it. All the big names are there. Most of the bikes you can sit on and there were a good amount of them.

I stopped into Suzuki of Newmarket's area to buy a hat..walked out with a new exhaust. They had one Vance/Hines exhaust that would fit my bike (2008 gsxr), regular $749, on for $300. Since I needed one, I couldn't resist. They also had some other good deals but needed to walk away before I blew my budget. Was also cool to try on some of the Bell helmets as I am ordering a new one and wanted to get the sizes right.

There was a neat booth set up for riding ireland, that had daily trips, etc. all plotted out.

Highlight was going to the gtam booth and looking at the large printout they had of the main forum page and trying to see if your name showed up on any of the posts :D

For the $16, was worth it just to browse around, and if you find a good deal, bonus.
 
The 1199 was amazing and the F3 was there too. The MV guy told me it was flown in from Italy for the show & was going back afterward. A lot of nice machines there though I noticed that Kawasaki was strangely absent.
 
2 hour look around , one new helmet and the 10 buck entrance and train ride in was awesome. See you all in January.
 
Can't beat $5 student entrance on Friday, so to me it was worth $5.

I got to sit on F3 (quite amazing bike) until someone from the dealership politely informed me that it's not allowed.

Line-up to sit on 1199 was quite long, looks like it was easily the most popular bike at the show, even though the show wasn't generally crowded.

Deals? Very good prices on Michelin Pilot Power/Pure at Rider's Choice (within $10 of Pete's prices, after you factor in shipping), great deals on Shoei at SoN (399), a few dealers had GoPro Hero for 250 after tax.

Honda had "Honda riders lounge" where you can take pictures with their "models" on CBR250. Kawasaki did not show up. Norton, Cleveland, Victoria, Moto Guzzi, Zero electric bikes and other less known/available in Canada brands had decent presence. I wanted to sit on Piaggio MP3, but didn't find it.

Oh yeah, Diavel looked very nice too!
 
Stop by Riders Choice booth to check out the $4000 carbon fiber Arai... slick.

Sounds like there is not much from Kawi there so you might not be interested. I figured you were just gunna go to the Kawi booth for dialysis of yer green blood!
 
Looked like a flea market to me.
 
Went to see the Panigale and try it on for size..... absolutely brilliant wasn't interested in anything else... nothing else compares THE END
 
you should also check out the carbon fiber bmw s1000r riders choice has on display. Wicked looking bike.

They also have a cbr250 thats supports from the bottom. You sit on it and someone will tip it over for you. Kinda cool to see how far it can lean over without touching hard bits.

The Duc 1199 was awesome but the electronic suspension adjustment for the rear shock was a little annoying, don't know how much it would affect someone when in motion though (Im sure not at all)

Overall, it was nice to see all the bikes!
 
For me, the visual star of the show is the Moto Guzzi Griso 8V Special Edition....a thing of beauty, even though not generally my type of bike. Something about the impeccable style, the matte green paint combined with the tan saddle. Bellisimo!

Just got back from it. Pretty boring to be honest. Did 3 or 4 laps around the place but since it's mostly stuff you can just see on any manufacturers websites there were no big surprises. I brought my camera and didn't even bother taking it out of my pocket since everything you see there you can find pics of on their sites and in the catalogues. There were some great catalogues this year, got a nice big bag full of them.

I still prefer the Jan show and all the custom bikes just to be able to see something different, i'm looking more forward to that.

Same here - spent 2hrs wondering around and nothing really special. Was the first one I attended, so didn't have any expectations, but now I know not to attend for next year. Would also do the Jan. show to check it out as well. Thought I could get sizing for the C3 and would have expected the manufacturers rep. to be present, but it was just the sales guy from Riders Choice.

You're absolutely right Donny i bleed GREEN "no kawis no show for me" eheh- beside no new bikes for 2012, except ducati and mv-675.
 
Aprilia didn't bring the new Tuono in or the new RSV4s. Or the new Dorsorduro. So really all there is for me to go for tomorrow is the Panigale and hey... I'll just hit GP bikes in the new year for that.
