He cant just cancel the charges. He'll have to wait until he receives the bill listing the purchase, and then follow their formal chargeback procedure. If it comes to it, that will normally provide plenty of time to see if the site is on the up and up. 11 days is not great, but not the end of the world. If you havent received them by the time you get your statement, then you should prepare a record of the transaction and all corresponding communications and file a chargeback with the CC company. They will investigate the matter and, if appropriate, refund the purchase. Credit Cards companies are really good when it comes to this sort of thing (as opposed to banks) so I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.
