Harley Cop Rant

LOL to all of this, I laughed even harder..

motorcycle cops dismounting and engaging in FOOT CHASES? Lack of money? Are you serious? Sounds like Blair has you eating out of his palm.... We have way too many police officers making way too much money.

I still ****ing hate pigs, but this was fun to watch....

I remember that story. Ticketed - sure, but convicted? I don't recall, and they're two different things.

Found this, http://www.drivers.com/article/149/

"They were charged with obstructing the highway and public mischief. The latter, a criminal offense, was later dropped in return for pleading guilty to the obstruction charge. Both wound up with a fine and a six-month license suspension."

And most likely a huge insurance hike.. Fark!

Dismount and foot chase starts at 4:20

is that an OPP? If not, irrelevant

So an OPP motorcycle cop will never dismount and engage in a foot pursuit?
Good information we get a GTAM. Just like the other thread that zero female officers will pursuit a fleeing vehicle.......

:-?

Never? Nah, I'm sure it happens once every 10 years or something insignificant like that... would love to read the statistics on how many OPP roadside stops result in a foot chase in which a motorcylce cop is sprinting after a suspect....

to believe that is the reason cops don't wear full gear on their bikes, is a pretty far stretch... i would say it has much more to do with riding a motorcycle for 10 hours a day and being comfortable... having to remove a full face every single time they want to speak to someone would be a pain in the rear too

Link to that thread please.

Its about the "look"... See the photos of the bmw TPS rider.. He's got full gear and hiviz because he's NOT on a Harley and what's" expected ". On a Harley they do the CHiP thing like Jon and Ponch. Because that's the" look"

Modular helmets. European cops in warmer climates wear leathers and modular helmets, and they are highly trained to ride fast. A ridiculous percentage of TPS cops are obese, they dont have minimal fitness requirements. One crash and its a sweet disability pension for life.

No idea why this is titled Harley Cop Rant... oh well.

As ****** as I was for the driver being oblivious I was equally angry at the cop not doing anything about it. This was like a smack in the face saying its ok to sit in the left lane.

Cops don't follow road laws. They park in bicycle lanes, they drive distracted, typing on a laptop while driving. Most have the attitude that road laws are for civilians. A female cop ran into a bus this spring in Guelph while speeding and typing. She got a hero's funeral. The police completely white-washed the incident. They were lucky the bus was empty and she only killed herself.

As for left lane bandits -this is a three point demerit, but I have never heard of anyone actually getting this charge in Ontario.

Even more dangerous however are the people who approach on the left lane from behind and don't give you 5 seconds to move over, then they pass on the right. This will lose your licence in Germany, because that's how massive crashes happen on the autobahn.

I remember that. So that's what she was doing? :-/

+1

On my commute if I'm not going 140km/hr in the fast lane I am getting tailgated.

I feel the same way. I would love to slow down on the 407 but I can't. It's to the point now I even tell myself "ok, let's just take it easy, nice relaxing ride home" no more than get on the highway and it's like "why are they driving so close, back off" I refuse to ride in a pack of cars at 110 or 120, left thumb left thumb left thumb, 140, much safer. And still you get guys on your rear. I have moved over at 140 to let people pass.
