I still don't see the issue with a one series. It was cool before to find the smallest car and stuff in the biggest motor. Now it's a production car and it's not cool? 300 hp in something that small and easily tuned for more sounds like a fun car to me.
 
Its really not that small. Its still over 3400lbs.

I like the performance potential anyway but cant get over the looks. Even the 1M was kinda blehhh.

As has been said, it's not THAT light but it's still got better power to weight than almost anything else in its price range, great torque, rear wheel drive and it looks subtle unlike something like a wrx or 370z so you're less likely to get pulled over. It's honestly a fun car to drive and you really get a lot for the money. Yes the looks are subjective but I like it and that's all that counts to me. I could have easily dropped a few k more for a 335i but for my needs this car is superior.
