GTAM/Grand Bend Weekend! Aug 24/25 2013

+1 for Reverse Screaming Alien :toothy8:

It'll be nice to have an extra day of practice before the next SOAR round.
Extra 2 days :)

Well, I thought I would jump in at this point to provide updated maps of all the layouts available at GBM...

Oh baby, looks sweet :) I'm down for that.

How strictly do they enforce the noise restrictions at GBM?

I'm trying to work out my schedule how to get to this weekend. It doesn't look good. :/

Edit: wrong thread, thought I was in the RDT/DDT thread. Urgh.

I'd be in red/expert, takes about five laps to get up to the "slower" riders. If Jamie makes it to that by then, I'll be sure and keep some distance. lol

your bike will be fine jamie.
and im in!
Woot woot, great news :)

I'ma sign up in Green, never been to that track before, and never been on a track that isn't flat ;)

GB is pretty darn flat Jaimie. Sorry.

I have only done the long track and liked it okay, but corner 5 in that configuration truly blows. Not even a real corner, just a cobbled-together afterthought junction. I'd be keen for any configuration that excludes that turn. The screaming alien (either direction) looks fine.

Set it up as Screaming Alien for the Saturday and Reverse Screaming Alien for Sunday !!

If it is a two day event it should be two different configurations. I vote reverse screaming alien for one of them.

Heh... you think that's porky... you should try just lifting the swingarm on a '89 ZX-7 (no "R"). :D

I would like to try the reverse screaming alien. Forwards was very fun on my SV.

Just make sure there are reminders and arrows to point where to go.... last year at the SOAR practice weekend some trackday-dummies showed up and started doing the wrong config, riding through pylons and such. The change was properly instructed/notified and were sent out WITH a control rider out on the first lap.

Good on Ken for giving them a separate group to keep them away from those who were more seasoned at GBM.

My fav. track config.

and just about took me out if I was 4 feet closer.... agreed, how insanely stupid can you be. "Hey, there are bunch of pylons over there, I should probably make a sudden change of direction and plow through them as 2 faster riders are about to pass me instead of pulling off to the side of the track in a safe, controlled, and predictable manner."

I got that on video, from about 3:20.

I didn't like being in that group, but I don't have a club card ;)
