It seems that I might be the only one who got into riding SS knowing exactly how the reputation stands, how it had always stood, and how it will continue to stand.
If you look all across the world, you'll find massive numbers of SS riders aggressively dominating streets on occasion while riding at excessive speeds.
By design, these SS bikes bring out a tendency to speed, with an overwhelming sense of freedom that symptomatically has one saying to oneself " I'm free and I don't give a f***".
Although maturity plays a massive role in this, SS riders that currently don't push their machines, either:
- Used to push their machines once upon a time (before the maturity and fines add up)
- Patiently wait to push them in the right places (track, wastelands, etc) Me ?
- Can't push them yet due to mental/skill restrictions
I think this is an issue of "where" these guys are choosing to express their sense of freedom, and not just the fact that they are "doing it".
I don't really hear much solutions to this issue other than mindless personal bashing. As long as these type of machines are on the streets, don't be surprised.
SS bikes are:
A blessing and a curse
A double-edged sword
A catch 22.
No different than having the option to buy all the marijuana accessories (pipes/rolling papers/etc) and seeds in legit, legal stores downtown but...we just can't grow it. Or smoke it. The assembly pack is available though ?
Odd...
