How do people here feel about the GP Bikes "holiday" wish this year? Particularly the part to customers that reads: "Never forget the true reason for the season. His name is Jesus. Merry Christmas from our whole team at GP Bikes."

Thoughts?

I dig it...
After all, that's what Christmas is all about.
And quite frankly, I'm impressed that they're not being political about it and just saying "happy holidays".

Would you prefer Allah Akbar?? It's CHRISTmas...get over yourself

Their business, they can do what they want. I have no problem with someone having a religion, and practicing it, and wanting to spread it around to other people. The problem comes when they start trying to force it onto others, which it doesn't seem like they're doing.

Anyone is free to celebrate whatever holiday they see fit within their religion or culture. I don't think this whole Merry Christmas issue is as big as everyone makes it out to be. I even have friends that are Hindu that say Merry Christmas. To them, it's obviously does not take on religious significance. It's more a time to be merry and spend time with family and friends. In the end, that's what matters.

There are car insurance companies that announce on their radio commercials their Christian based holiday messages.
If those companies that want to include a solidifying message that tells the public what they believe, that is their choice. And their marketting people aren't stupid. They understand that this could very well loose them certain customers or potential ones, and they must be okay with this risk by saying what they believe.
All the power to them. Too many people nowadays are afraid to say what they mean or feel, for fear of being called a bigot, or un-politically correct (is that a word?) I say stand up for what you believe.

I think it's great. Honestly I've been fed up with the political correctness stuff for a few years. The email from GP put a smile on my face when I read it. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this country founded upon by people of Christianity? Yes I know, I should not forget the native/aboriginal people. Amen to GP for stating what they believe. I have been a longtime customer and will be for a long time in the future.

I just asked a simple question. December also features Hanukkah, Bodhi Day, Kwanzaa, and my personal favourite Festivus, among others....
And there are places where it is the norm to celebrate those, do they have to wish a Merry Christmas there? Or is it only north america where we have to bend over backwards for every group?

<-- Atheist btw before all the panties become knotted.

I would've preferred they refer to him as Baby Jesus

I like the "card." It's genuine, not the typical holiday greeting. And I'm all for keeping "Christ" in Christmas.
