GP BIKES 2014 Trackdays

I found the back straight before pit out had the highest speed.

Probably a lot more (200km/hr)on the straight before the front straight. Probably more on the front straight on a liter bike.

This is just judging from video and looking at the track, I haven't done it yet.

It sure felt like 200kph!! lol. But my high accuracy GPS timer gave me the bad news of 154km/h :( lol. There's a pretty big hill in the middle of the pit out straight so I usually backed off at that point, and without an RPM gauge I couldn't tell exactly where my limiter was, and it wasn't really worth it to grab an extra gear for that part.

Correct.

Correct.

A higher corner speed will get you a higher speed on the straights, and maybe a fairing too.

that is the straight i was referring to when I said "straight before the front straight" lol

Great time out at the new track. I was surprised to find that I could ride the whole thing in 2nd gear. Shifted to 3rd a couple times but in all honesty I didnt have to. Very good learning track as almost every corner had some kind of trick to it like off camber or uphill or blind or downhill etc.

I'm definately going back. One thing I'll say is that passing is very difficult and you must be a lot faster than the rider you're overtaking and you must plan for the few passing spots on the track. I had no issues overtaking last week at grand bend and then this week the few passes I made were sketchy and probably not worth the risk. The riders that were waving people through were polite and I appreciated it. I started doing it too on the straights if I saw/heard a rider on my tail. Just let off the gas on the straight and it's way safer. Some riders wouldnt let people through and there would end up being 6 or more bikes stacked up.

I know that youre not suppose to look behind you but seriously if you know youre holding people up just relax on the few passing spots and let them through. Its safer for everyone.

I was in the Yellow group all day. All in all a great outing and no real hiccups...Thanks GPBikes!

Does anyone know the photographer who was taking pics? I forgot to get his card???

Worst organized track day I was ever at in my life. Save your money and go to a Pro6 event. You will thank me later.

He said he got stuck in green group, got black flagged for passing, then was kicked out. I guess he deleted that from his post before you saw it. I was going to ask how do you get "stuck in green group"? And if so, how do you not obey the rules?

Thanks for the info. Kinda sucks you have to sign up before you can see the pics though.

I thought it was a perfectly run day myself. Started in green, got black flagged for inside passing, moved me to yellow, problem solved (partly because they are more lenient on inside passing in yellow group, plus the pace is much higher so there isn't as much passing going on :)).

Awesome run day Jeff. I can't wait to do your other two days! Is there a reason why only 3 days this year?

Thanks for the great feedback John
I wish we can do more days but it is hard for us to get our staff out of the store during the working day so we have been limited to long weekends
and as for the images its worth signing up for he runs a good site and always has a monthly flyer which is a good read to keep you informed on whats going on in the wide world of racing
