Got vintage?

Sonny, Mongrel, you both missed the vintage-themed joke.

lol, i missed it too, let the good times roll lol:happy6:.....to think, i was gonna call the police......

I apologize because I am aware of the fact that we live in a climate of fear and you were all absolutely correct to question it because this is a forum that has people on it like this one guy who shouts for others to come and murder him when it is pointed out his license plates are showing.

I am relieved that Eliz gave the benefit of doubt and figured it out because it really is a neat story. Thank you!

That slogan was Honda's breakthrough into the US market in the early 60s. Here is a recap of the story as told by Honda, many firsts including first foreign corporation to sponsor academy awards: http://world.honda.com/history/challenge/1959establishingamericanhonda/text08/

This ad ran in LIFE magazine:

Also love those little bikes, would be thrilled to get a passport when I've got more space and funds.

CB550? Nice!
What swingarm you got in there? GSXR 1000 forks?

Thanks its actually a 1975 CB750.
This is just a side project I keep at the shop during our downtime.
That is just a pic of it getting the chassis numbers squared away.

ZX6 front forks will get a ohlins 30mm fork kit and ttx36 rear shock.
The swing arm in the pic is modified zx6rr but I might just go scratch built instead to get the numbers we need.

I've got three old ones, all Hondas. A '75 CB200t, a '83 CM250C and a '82 V45 magna. The CM's my daily rider; I picked it up a couple of years ago with only 650 kms on it. The '75 is rough but ran well until I got the '83, and now from sitting one of the carbs is gummed up. I just got the Magna recently for cheap, but it needs exhaust work to get it legal. I have to finish the trim in the house before I can tackle that, though.

Here is a pick of my old beater

thats pretty swish looking.

and guy four spots above? that Jota is the thing of dreams. Not many realize Laverda was a tractor company that had a motorcycle nut in the family, I love the stuff the Italians were up to, Count Agusta with bags of money, Lamborgini buying a ferarri declaring it crap and deciding to build a better super car (he made tractors too). Stuff of legend
