Getting my new exhaust tomorrow

Yeah $599 + tax is around $700 bucks...
What, you think Yoshimura R&D in California pay their people peanuts?
What I can't figure out is why the very most expensive exhausts in the world come from Slovakia...!

because Akros are the best.
It's Slovenia actually.

$700 for a can holy crap isn't that like 20% of the value of the whole bike?

I read an interesting review not long ago where a dual Leo Vince was tested against a cheap danmoto exhaust on a GSXR1000. They tested them out on the track and on a dyno. There was no detected difference in performance between the two. The differences were that the danmoto cost a couple of hundred dollars and the leo vince over a grand, and the danmoto was described as being built of quality parts, but just not as "pretty" as the name brand.

"Approximately C $650.91"

Mine was $575.96 plus $90 labour. Plus, I got it now. Didn't have to wait on shipping then install it, etc. I don't mind.

$90 to install a slip-on... shoulda just offered a case of beer to someone here for help.

I was there because I was supposed to get my bike fixed from the accident. The appraiser from my insurance company met me there and I ended up not getting it fixed since it would be 3 grand out of pocket until they processed and sent me the cheque. So I just had my first service and had the exhaust installed as well. At least it wasn't a complete waste. I blew the majority of the day there and ended up having to reschedule the repairs to be done for another time. Pain in the butt.

Looks good.

Waiting for video of the racket it makes.

Slip on = visual improvement, 1/2hp gain, $90 to install
Full system = visual improvement, 1hp gain, $300 to install

Worth it?

I think both of those prices are on the high end? I put my slip-on onto my bike and it took me about 30 mins and it was my first time doing that.
Also say a shop charges $75/hr, It takes 4 hrs to put a full exhaust on? and the 1/2HP vs 1HP is highly debatable.

Either way, Glad your happy with your purchase OP.

The bike has only been available for 6 months or so. Any exhaust avaialble for it will be a fairly new item so prices are still high. After a few years you'll see prices on slipons and full systems come down.

The CBR250 makes about 23hp. Horespower gains will be small.

I'm not too familiar with the exhaust routing on a CBR250 but for a mechanic to bring a bike into the shop and put it on the lift, remove the lower fairings, perhaps drain the cooling system and remove the radiator, remove the stock exhaust, install the new one, install the rad and fill the cooling system, install the lower fairings then clean everything up and wipe everything down. start, run, ride the bike to make sure there's no leaks and everything is tight. it could easily take several hours.

I changed my zx6r exhaust to a KR tuned slip on in 30 mins. And that wast first time doing anything like that. But your right that bike might be totally different.
