I find it odd that people get in an uproar about gas prices going up by a few pennies...yet they keep on buying their Starbucks frapamapacino's!

the difference is you have a choice weather you buy an overpriced beverage while the price of oil will impact you regardless of your wishes

Ya, I got laid off 2 weeks ago from my bike shop job 'cause business is slow, so money is tight. And I'll end having to fill up more since I'm driving down to Peterborough to Brampton and various relatives houses.

Well its already begun. Our company has received notice from our suppliers that cost of packaging film and trays will go up another 5% effective immediately. This is a second jump in 6 months...With our low margin of profit we have no option but to transfer this raise in prices to our customers, who are btw all the major players in meat and poultry packaging industry.
Expect a rise in prices of everything from ground beef to turkey and chicken products. I'm sure this is also being done with the rest of the industries. Profit margins on a pound of beef for the meat supplier/packager is 2c, no way in hell will they eat the increase in cost.

well seeing as my student loans don't even cover school. I won't be getting a pair. if I happen to come across some extra money or future birthday gifts or something, I would like a pair as I think my gloves are way past their life expectancy, even with all the hole I sewed shut.

I decided to not come down for easter weekend after all, and gas is really the farthest thing from my mind right now.

Gas has been at a steady 1.33 in these parts all week.

$1.31 in St. Thomas yesterday (filled up)... $1.40 at Milton Esso this morning (but Esso is always the highest priced I find). If gas prices are dropping tomorrow, I'll fill up then and commute to see family then.
