Gas bill separation - suspicion

I see what looks like a date on my gas water heater. 2002. Is the consensus I should pay the $100 and get out while I can?
I'll have to call and confirm the date but it seams plausible. I've owned the house for 32 years. I think we pay about $30 plus tax
a month.

I would get out asap and never let them get their claws into you again.

Our buy out is about $1200. If the tank lasts 2 1/2 years it'll balance out. If it doesn't it's still worth it to not have to deal with the b******s again.
