Full leather for street riding stupid?

You obviously don't have any experience or greater knowlege, because if you did, you would know the WHOLE PURPOSE, of bionic body armor is to prevent road rash and breaking your back, shoulders, on a fall, unless you really fall all messed up and wrong, in which case your full suit proved nothing can stop from such an injuries. in such incidences.
Wrong.

Also, why do you seem to think falling at a track is more dangerous than falling on the road?

do not question 2wet, he has been everywhere done everything, last we did some numbers turned out he's been riding around the clock for the past 80 years or something :lmao:

I think it's funny that some people think wearing full gear is funny. Although gear won't help in all situations, I think at least anyways for most minor incidents they can make a huge difference between getting up and walking away or having a nice fun ride to the hospital.

I wasn't wearing gear on my legs when I lowsided and this injury and road rash could have been preventable if I was wearing riding pants or some kind of leg protection...Upper body was completely fine because I was wearing a jacket otherwise my arms probably would have looked like this as well...
So for the people who say gear is useless...I beg to differ.

You broke you collar bone at 70kmh, my best friend broke his just falling side ways on his snow board in blue mountain doing zero kilometers and hour, he just fell wrong..again, your injuries and death is out of your control, its in Gods hands. But yea you can go all out to be as safe as possible as you want, no wrong in that, for me, i can't live a life based on fear, if i die, i die, if i brake a bone i brake a bone, for everything else i'll be as careful as much as i need to be no overkill or under-kill, keep it in the middle for me.

Thanks for comin' out, champ.

I'm just going to leave this here....

O-M-G! DollyMix. Did you need surgery?

No they stitched the hole up or at least tried to and I had to go back a week later to get them taken out because it wasn't holding the skin properly and was getting infected...sooo just had to let it fill in on its own...a year and a half later now it's still scarring over

You might want to get more than one professional opinion. It looks like if your leg has been eaten by a flesh eating bacteria.

I'm not sure if you're getting proper advice but I'm hoping that you're keeping your wounds dry. No water, keep applying antibiotics at least 2x a day. Let scabs build up, they are your friend.

That is gonna leave a serious mark

Dollymix, heal up and I'm glad you'll be OK. That picture reinforces why it's a good idea to wear knee pads/armour under your jeans as a bare minimum. Many think"that won't happen to me" until it does.

I have a two piece for street riding.
It's a light colour and perforated, so that it doesn't heat up as much.

One piece leathers are made for you being in a bike crouch.
Two piece you can at least zip apart to walk around.

This happened a year and a half ago if I had flesh eating bacteria pretty sure I wouldn't have a leg by now lol...I have a pretty cool scar though

Get a second and third opinion. My wrists will be a bit screwed forever, since the doctor I went to just gave me some anti inflammatory pills after I flew off my bike. Another doctor told me I likely had micro fractures. My knees would have been mush without armor since I high sided off a SMC.

Geezus... would take broken bones over rash any day

For those unsure about gear, I suggest you read the sad and shocking story of Brittany Morrow. Nobody should have to go through what she endured. Such a heavy price to pay.

Scugog road 4 - off 12. The road went from asphalt to gravel off a hill with no signs or warning, basically once you crossed the crest of the hill the road turned into gravel, There was no way to see it coming and not her fault, any experienced or not experienced rider would have gone down in most cases.
