Today I t-boned a car that pulled a u-turn in front of me. Fortunately I was only going about 30 km but I ended up with the bike on top of me. Full agatt resulted in only cracked ribs and some really interesting bruises. Can only imagine what it would have been like with shorts and tshirt. Hot pipes, gravel etc. no thanks!
Cops gave him full blame and the bike needs a front end.
Sorry to hear, GWS.
The bike resto looks faultless, it is a shame that the effort is wasted.
Hope that you get fair compensation for both your injury and the bike.
What was the perp's story on the cause of the accident?
What else, “didn’t see you” . But he only slowed down enough to turn around and for sure didn’t look in his mirror. Good thing I wasn’t driving a Kenworth!

I have had someone do that to me when I was driving a full size van. He was heading towards me on a two lane road and all the sudden he was 90 to the road across both lanes about 5 feet in front of me. Not much to do but brace yourself.
Happened around noon. Paramedics checked me out in the ambulance with all their gadgets and all my electrics and blood pressure was good but now I’m home and the ribs are really feeling sore so I would hope a couple of days will do it.
Front end is toast, no idea how to check if the frame is bent with the forks bent.
I just finished restoring this a couple of weeks ago, got it safetied and put 400 km on it. Now I have to start over…
The only real damage was the front end because it fell on me and that saved the tank, engine and pipes.
It started out in much worse shape so I will try and save it again. Adjuster won’t be contacting me until next week.
Went to the fracture clinic today and the doc said I have an avulsion fracture on my 5th metatarsal (the first joint of the pinky finger from the ankle). The ligament just dislodged from the joint and chipped a bone fragment.
Wow that little toe must have taken all the weight. Can’t imagine the pain. I hit mine every now and then on a chair leg and it hurts a lot for a few days. Hopefully the week passes fast.

That's always my test for footwear on a bike. Would I be happy laying on the ground and having the bike tip over onto my ankle. If the answer isn't yes, those aren't the right boots for me.
