Friday the 13th @ Port Dover

The only time I went was in February 2004. Sketchy ice patches between fields on the way there. When riding between fields, you got blown from the right shoulder to the far left side of the pavement, then use the gap at a tree line to get back on your side of the road. It was ~ zero on the way there and minus a whole bunch on the way home. Less ice when it was colder though.
Awesome!
I was there that year too - was not fun at all. And to tie it in to the Rosey Toes thread... I went with Ted.

Was so cold after that ride I bought heated grips and gloves immediately after.

didn't realize there was a PD13 this month
have never been
weather is looking great for it
anyone there, enjoy!

arrghhhhh!!!

You need to bump those numbers up.

Swing by when the rear tire's shot. The neighbours are well past caring.

Your bike has a lot of colours for Dover. Anything other than black is basically flying a rainbow flag.
are you suggesting another event would be more suitable for the Crayola Gooch?
don't think they allow bikes in that parade

I've heard about dudes that look for approval from other dudes as they roll into town
when me and the Crayola Gooch arrive
kids jump up and down, dogs bark, women smile

I'm good with that

I've had a pair of tires on ice for 2 months, thinking the oem's would be long gone. Shouldn't be too much longer, I'll burn it off.
I've been by twice since that other time. Are you ever home?

Only time I went was 2015 which was in June as I recall. Cool and lots of rain the day before when we rode down and stayed in Niagara. Day of event was actually a nice sunny day. Left on the Sunday and it was 5c there and rode through a snowstorm just north of Durham area (plus the treachery of going across Burlington Skyway on that Victory Magnum in a horrible crosswind and that thing was a sail).

RIP rider...condolences to the family...prayers and thoughts are with them...

What..?

No OPP surveillance van..?

I am disappoint.
No need for a van there were a few of them in the park with DSLR camera's zooming in taking shots of club members and associates.
Not sure why the line up was so long for the destination 13 store all day.. I guess it's the "cool" place to buy shirts?
Started off slow this morning but by afternoon was packed.
Spent most of the day wandering around.
Got detoured around Hagersville because of the accident, was hoping it wasn't going to be a bad outcome and I came home to check the news...RIP rider. If not a brake failure on the van should be charged with murder. likely distracted driving and preventable.

I saw you last time. Thought it was one of the neighbour's ADV buddies. The alarm didn't go off, either.

Doubt that thing goes much further than the nearest Tim Hortons, and was probably trailered into Dover. You just don't see stuff like that going across the 401, or in the wild anywhere really.

I dunno, I try to be subjective and "respect all builds" when it comes to custom stuff (both cars and motorcycles, whatever else), but when form starts taking over function to the point where it's barely operable for it's originally intended purpose (IE, actually being a viable conveyance further than 250 feet up a perfectly flat street to a parking spot), well, ya lost me.

Exactly.

Would like to see a pic of your ride.

Charged with manslaughter they're saying. I don't see how the rider could have avoided this. There's a curb on the left, so nowhere to go. I like to stop on the leftmost side if in the passing/left turn lane. There's no excuse for this, I bet the cops seized his cell phone right away.

how is that even possible? unless you are sleeping......or completely out of mind on drug, alcohol or rage or all of the above? yes, that is not just careless driving
