Friday the 13th @ Port Dover

Oh wow, I didn't know it was this big - "The event has been described as "the biggest single-day motorcycle event in the world"
Based on my experience it is also the biggest single day Camry rally in the world but they don't advertise that. I went one february. I have have never seen so many camry's and pirates in my life but there were only a few dozen bikes. Who goes for a drive in their camry wearing pirate gear? Apparently thousands of people.

I would go one day just to see it…but totally missed this week is the 13th until yesterday. Too late to ask for the day off.

Ah well.

A few years back they recorded numbers of 130,000 people for there on day event in Dover.
I went to Sturgis for the 75th and heard there were more than 1.3 million.
After years of these events I prefer a week off...COVID FREE...and the Smoky Mountains with a pulled pork sandwich :)

Anything safe to do at night there?
There is nothing to do there due to covid it is being treated as a "non-event" so you'll have to settle for the normal offerings of the town of Dover.

Decided to stay home. Webcam looks pretty lame, are they not allowing bike parking on Main St?

No parking or any vehicle access to Main St.
I just got back.
There was a pizza truck, a pierogy truck, about a half dozen t-shirt outlets (outside on tables) besides On the Fringe, who had a huge lineup to get in.
I got mine from a table.
Very little wearing of masks, if that matters.

The highlight for me today was on the way there & back. Honking & waving to the old folks in Hagersville. They sit in chairs along the sidewalk, outside a retirement home and wave at the riders every 13th. It's awesome.
Didn't see thong man.

Sounds like two wins to me.

Ah well.
The first time I went it was rainy and the crowds were moderate, especially with me getting there early.

The second time I went it was cold and the crowds were modest. Bought a toque instead of a tee shirt.

The third time I went the weather was perfect. It was so crowded I couldn't wait to leave.
