Ford Nation - How do you like me now???

It's worth listening to the edge in the morning to hear the Rob Ford impersonations.

Dean has his voice down to a tee.

Fiscally conservative long-term thinker with foot-in-mouth disease.

What's not to like?

I think the F-150 is a great truck.

Judging by the choice we had during the election, it would have been no different if we chose the other candidates

If Smitherman was elected, we'd be in far worse shape but the lefties would sugarcoat it and hail him as the messiah. Ford has done a great job averting union strikes and lock outs by not caving in to their unrealistic demands.

I support Rob Ford and his reign of terror. I agree with the Smitherman comments; we'd be in worse shape if he got in.

Rob Ford is obese, unpolished, does not play well with media and is not a smooth talker. His foot is permanently in his mouth.

I think though by the time his reign ends, he will have done good for the city of toronto in the long run. I hope the sheppard subway extension goes through as I think light rail is not a good match for this city.

^^ Mr Ford recently lost the battle for the Sheppard subway and LRTs at council, not to mention his weight loss program too.

In terms of adverting union strikes I think the economic climate had more of a role to play then Mr Ford did.

Care to elaborate?

Would have been nice to have that Subway....

The unions would have been stupid to go out on stike and would have gotten no support from the public, given the cuts being made at every level. I'll ask how did Mr Ford avert the union strikes?

Agreed, but not the right decision for a numbner of reasons.

It was my understanding that contracts were already in place with MetroLinx (sp?) about getting the LRT's underway. Would have been a legal ****-show to break those contracts.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

I won't be able to answer that in detail, but standing up against the union strikes in a time of recession gets my approval.

Who stages a strike in the middle of a recession when everyone is losing their jobs???

Nope you're right. But one of Mr Fords First move was to stop construction of the Sheppard LRT, a year and a half later were are back to where we started with no progress on our transit system.... The Mayor should be providing a vision moving the City forward not stalling the progress of the City.
