That entire 1 billion dollar taxes saved they keep trotting out is mostly baloney when you break it down. But cause i'm a fair person I will say the private garbage pickup appears to be be a good cost saver 11 million saved (although thats over 7 years) was a smart move for the city of politically given then climate left over from the garbage strike.
 
Actually it's $11M per year, for 7 years. I give him credit there. Apparently service has improved too based on the lower number of complaints they get at 311.

How can someone make the right decision when they are all hooked up on crack cocaine? right?

Can it be that you can still make good professional decisions while not having a good life style? I know I am very good at my job but in the other hand have made some questionable personal decisions like getting involved with this thread.

You know that crack has long term affects on the brain as well as short term..same with all drugs. Some have a greater affect.

So is it possible you can make good decisions on the drug sure. But continued usage is going to increase those effects.
 
Getting caught in his lies is the best thing that could have happened to him personally. The media were not enablers like his family.

I have no link to back any of this up - it was never reported or made public - but Rob/family hired a high-priced Hollywood image consultant or fixxer or whatever they're called, after this crack stuff got out of control late last year ... and frankly, it shows in his behaviour of late (no more "i got enough at home" nuggets for the media).

IMO, this shows two things: he's definitely not one of the regular Joes (only millionaires can afford this kind of bull ****); and the city should be electing people who don't NEED image/behaviour/habit adjustments.

This 'well he didn't do it on the clock' line of defense is terrible. HE SMOKES CRACK. Admittedly. How are we as a city ok with this?! ****, i'm pro drugs, but that doesn't mean i want addicts and crack doers running the city. There are also detailed reports of him drinking and driving while he was on the clock, and plenty of examples of wasting tax payers time/money (commandeering a bus for his high school kids comes quickly to mind), behaving inappropriately/drunk in public settings (are you ever off the clock as a mayor out in public?), and being incredibly counter productive at council meetings.

I would be astonished if this city votes him in again. But then again, we did it the first time, and there was no shortage of evidence then that this guy was a total disgrace.

He's been working out. The photo ops show that. I'd imagine he's gotten a nutritionist to get a handle on his daily caloric count and junk food intake. You do that and you will lose weight. It's not rocket surgery.

I think we all already know the guy is a millionaire, the difference is his money does not come from stealing from the public so let it go, the guy is rich, so what!

I don't get you guys, first you cry every time he came on public and said something stupid, now the guy is trying to correct his behavior and you also complaint about it. I prefer him to a polished politician that knows how to say all the right things but back stabs the tax payers.

It is like saying "I prefer a mayor that is skinny because he doesn't have to make the effort to lose weight"

Let's discuss policies and laws and stop worrying who's vag his cigar goes up to
