Flight 370

I would have to say that it's probably at the bottom of the ocean somewhere. RIP to all those onboard. I say this because IF it was hijacked and ordered to fly towards India, Pakistan etc...would it have enough fuel to make it? Also even if it did make it to where it was ordered to go, info would of been leaked out by now.

Whoever hijacked it was sophisticated enough to turn off the locator beacon and fly along prescribed routes so they would have accounted for range for sure.
My guess is one of the pilots locked himself in the cockpit and when they tried to break in the plane was either flown into terrain or it lost control.

They are now saying that the engine "ping" was last heard some 7.5 hours after takeoff. With that amount of flight time, it could have slipped through Bangladesh, Nepal, etc (these countries do not have much in the way of radar) and gotten into some very remote areas of western Tibet, China, or beyond.

must remember this flight also had about 20 or so top computer programmers on it.
No need to hijack a plane for top computer programmers. Just pay 150k/yr or more and you can get all the top whatever you want. Plus a tax write off.

Now they're saying it's most likely the southern route. So about 2000k off of Perth australia.

turning off the communications and blackboxes is a matter of pulling a fuse- quite easy. I would think that if you can;t find something where it should be, or further away than it should be then, you should start looking closer to the beginning. say in Malaysia maybe?

I still think its an ad for Lost series 2

With the revised info on the flight I'm revising my version of what unfolded.
Apparently the plane was pinging a satellite every hour, with the last ping coming in at 8:11 Beijing time. The plane was estimated to have enough fuel to last until 8:30, so clearly it crashed between 8:11 and 9:11, almost certainly due to fuel starvation.
That means the pilots were flying around blindly for hours, probably with multiple failed instruments and communications. The plane's route change towards the nearest airport, and climb to 40000 ft, both make sense if the pilots knew they were in trouble but didn't know where they were.
It still leaves a number of questions, like how can all the comms fail simultaneously, how can ATC not catch an errant plane, and how did the pilots not try to use a cell phone as a last resort?

....... and how did the pilots not try to use a cell phone as a last resort?

This may explain the rumour of them flying at 5000 feet, trying to get into cell coverage???

The one problem i see with hijacking theory.... What to do with the 239 souls on board...... if they are looking for ransom.... That's a lot of people to take care of

have you looked at a 777? 6 redundancy systems on electrics would lead one to believe you cant look under the dash and pull a fuse, and you'd think 4 communication systems aren't running through one box, a major electrical fire could take it all out, but hard to hide. At 40,000ft where they say the plane now climbed if there was any pressure loss everybody could have been blacked out, pretty thin air up there. Black Box battery should be about out of juice shortly.
