Pick any Prince live footage [especially purple rain] and you can't go wrong. Him and Vai really 'speak' with the ''waaaaahs'' from their guitars.

Prince doing some chuck berry Johnny B. Goode http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mOUY9rBEmM&feature=related

Prince - Laydown on Lopez Tonight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQAs2HDMq-w

Steve Vai - For the Love of God, killer intro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDZuNM3HmU4

Wow, that Steve Vai song was epic!!!!

I'm attempting to learn Johnny B. Goode as my first electric song, but I can't stretch the 5 frets for that blues riff, so I'll have to figure my way around it.

Porl Thompson's picking in Just Like Heaven

Machine Head - Halo. Been a Metal Head all my life, and have heard MANY a guitar riff, however the solo in the middle of that song blew me away.

Steve Stevens in Flesh for Fantasy. Had a certain flare in Rebel Yell too.

Eric Clapton and Robbie Robertson.

You can get more reach by turning you hand sideways, so your palm is almost perpendicular to the fretboard. Or you can skip a string and mute the middle string with your top finger.

I came across this Burmese guitarist Chit San Muang a few years back, I think he is friggin awesome

I swear Steve Vai is such a fag..........super technical player and he does more with the whammy than anyone but I'm not really a huge fan. For the Love of God IS pretty much his best song though.

That buckethead solo is actually really cool....goes on a little too long but lots of cool parts...guy is actually pretty good at phrasing his solos.

Here is another one....love this band:

Pretty mind blowing, guy does pretty much every single technique I've ever seen/heard but I've never seen ONE person do them all (shredding, tapping, bass style slapping, acoustic style two handed tapping/slapping, playing on two necks at once, lap guitar overhand style, etc.), let alone do them all perfectly

oh man, so many worthy mentions

Paul Gilbert's solo albums, Get out of my yard, Silence followed by a defening roar, fuzz universe
