Favorite Bike color schema

All of my bikes have been green except for the sportster. The sportster tank is a bare metal patina look so I worked a little green into it before making it rusty just so that all my bikes have some green on the tank.

When I painted my ER6-n green, a couple of old Harley guys on separate occasions told be it's bad luck to paint a bike green. I have made a point to have every bike green since then.

Black is way too much of a cliche.
Just like my helmet I prefer white. White bikes always stand out in a crowd. That said I have been known to deviate....RFS 14.JPG

I am a big fan of the HRC Honda color Schemes. The more red the better though

Almost bought a 25th Anniversary VFR800 for the colourway, well I liked the bike too.

Most of my bikes have been various shades of blue, not on purpose, just always happens that the bike I want to buy at the right price is always blue. Much prefer red or KTM orange.

Probably my outright favourite is any Yamaha with the Kenny Roberts style paint.

To me, there's no one colour that's universally best. It's all about what works on specific bikes. I'm not buying an RS in lime green, but if I'm buying a Kawi sportbike, green is the only reasonable option.

Sportbikes generally work best in company colours for me. Kawi? Green. Suzuki? Blue and white. Yamaha? Blue (or yellow if going for a retro look). Honda? Red and something else. Ducati? Red, natch. Aprilia? Black with a contrasting colour, possibly purple. BMW? Primarily white with blue and red accents.

Aside from the RC30 (far and away the GOAT paint scheme already mentioned here), special schemes for me include:

- 2020-2021 Africa Twin in similar colours (the new one seems to have supersized the logo, which is awful)

- Any special edition RSV4, especially the black one with tricolore trim or the one in white or silver with the big capital 'A'

- any of the retro-styled R1's with the speed block stripe in yellow and black or white and red

- ZX-7R in green (obvs) with the white number boards

- VFR800 in Rothmans colours

- 916 monoposto in red with the white number boards on the tail

- Ducati Paul Smart with the metallic teal frame and silver bodywork

- OG GSX-R750 with the three shades of blue

- last but not least (for me) the CBR1000RR in blue and yellow

Was with you until the CBR1000RR, Repsol colours for the win

Had that also, same driveway. I'm old, I had a lot of bikes. First bike BSA 650 Lightning 1971, I was 16. Don't have one picture of it. I couldn't find a guy to carve the picture of it on a rock. :p

@regder and @GreyGhost , you're both nuts. Yellow and blue is a fantastic combo. Think Colin McRae in an STi, the Swedish flag, and above all these days, the Ukrainian flag!

EDIT: and the Repsol colours make no sense on a CBR. If they ever made an attainable V4 sportbike again, then definitely...

Black is easy to live with (fix scratches with a Sharpie), looks OK on larger bikes, small bikes, not so much...
I like early R1/R6 blue - something about that particular shade of blue, with some minimal white graphics...

My favourite R1/R6 colors would be the black with red flames, which is wierd as I find flames on cars and cruisers look tacky. But these bikes did something for me.

Black is beautiful. I might be biaised.

Otherwise i do love Red motorcycles, they definitely catch my attention.

Charcoal grey i like too.

The other colours like green, blue, yellow, etc... meh, feels a bit too much

Although some light/sky blue might be nice.
