Fast and Furious guy killed in car crash.

There's traction control on this car so there at least some electronic aid..if it was turned on .

There is at least one of these in the GTA - seen him driving around sunday mornings on the 401. beautiful car

Raced a silver one north of the city this summer :)

I've seen one parked in first Canadian place (right at the bottom of the ramp on p1 so it is someone that works there)

There was one parked on King W near Bathurst a couple weeks ago. Probably the very same one y'all are talking aboat. Snapped a couple of decent iPhone shots. Gorgeous machine, one of those designs that will stand the test of time IMO.

You implied TC and SC have something to do with physics. True enough they don't bend laws of physics, but they can really help with driving. SC can control more than the driver can control. No car allows you to apply the brake on one wheel or one side.

No debate.

My comment is a more global statement that people think since their cars have TC/ASC and various other techno gadgetry that they can drive like idiots and the car will save them.

No amount of gizmo's will save you if there simply is not enough grip or example.

And generally, while the ASC can activate on brake or partial brakes, such activities are a result of the driver exceeding the limits available given the driver inputs and thus the system counteracts. This could save you, but invariably results in actually going slower, not faster.

The driver was an experienced racer. He got stung by the porsche-911-tail-happy-trait that the C-GT is also notorious for and got caught out. This has caused some to proclaim the car as too dangerous to be driven at high speed.

It also didn't help that the gas tank is right behind the seats dead centre of the car.

The car has a reputation to be a widow maker. It is also designed to split in two with side impact. From what's been said so far, the passenger (walker) took a direct hit on the passenger door which would have caused death on impact. I hope the driver didn't survive only to be burned alive.

This is 100% the desired outcome, because generally here slower = alive. ASC does not exist (generally) to make cars faster.

Again, no debate. But the unintended consequence of such gizmos is that people believe they are invincible because somehow the car will save them if they drive hamfisted only to find themselves exceeding both the laws of physics AND the capabilities of their ASC systems, generally putting them into less then desired situations.

Wait until the first good snowfall....first cars in the ditch / accidents are the 4 wheel drives / SUVs / pickups. People rely on technology instead of brains.

Anyway RIP to both driver and passenger as it's a damn shame. I didn't like the FF movies but I liked him as an actor.

Didn't the driver die on impact? In the video you can see someone trying to get out of the car while it's on fire. From what I've heard driver died on impact an Paul was burned alive.
