Fast and Furious guy killed in car crash.

Is that sarcasm? LOL @ trusting CNN...

No sarcasm. I too am skeptical of the media most times.

However, the contacts, experience and outreach CNN has far surpasses any other media outlet in North America IMHO.

If they can confirm a story like this, and I noticed they were slower than the other outlets to report likely due to confirming and verifying, then its probably true.

He was also an avid wildlife hands on type of guy for a couple of shows on the discovery channel during the shark week episodes, he just loved the ocean...RIP he will be missed, condolences to his family & friends!

I saw those episodes. I believe he also has a degree in Marine Biology

GT also lacks stability control, which makes it a poor choice for people who have more money than driving talent

Cars like that are poor choices for 90% of the people who can buy them. Stability control can't fix stupid and obviously there was a huge amount of speed involved.

What's worse is that he wasn't the driver. Being killed by someone else's inability.

Pictures look gruesome. Makes one wonder how fast and how furious? Was it road rage? Did the driver have a name? Daughters name is Meadow. Not the drivers daughter, the other guy.

Driver was Roger Rodas apparently Walker's partner in a performance shop they owned. Also a racer and experienced driver.

Stung by the CGT. Walker was a gearhead through and through. ****** buzz.

That's a relief. I thought it might have been Sonny.

Too soon?

^ That would be an appropriate sendoff ... RIP.

I wouldn't know personally, but a minor amount of poking around on the internet suggests that the Carrera GT is something of a handful, and it doesn't have any electronic aids to bail the driver out if they get in trouble.

What 600hp+ car isn't a handful?

I think the CGT is much more challenging to drive than your typical 600hp car.

The release of Porsche's Carrera GT, which will challenge the Ferrari Enzo for the title of the world's fastest car, has been delayed because one of its most experienced test drivers says it is too powerful for mere mortals.
Former world rally champion and Porsche test driver Walter Rohrl told Drive the new Porsche supercar is "the first car in my life that I drive and I feel scared".

Rohrl, who has been testing the Carrera GT in prototype form for the past three years, said it is so powerful that it spins the rear wheels in each gear up to fifth in its six-ratio box.

Power and acceleration figures are yet to be announced but Rohrl gave a clue to the engine's awesome performance, saying that the 5.5-litre V10 produces 450Nm of torque from as little as 2000rpm.

Earlier this year, Rohrl said, the engineering team was about to cancel a day's testing at the famous Nurburgring circuit because of wet weather. But, Rohrl said, when he insisted the car had to be tested in slippery conditions, he discovered the car's daunting performance.

"I came back into the pits and I was white," Rohrl said. "I immediately said to the engineers that we need one button for the wet and one button for the dry", referring to the need for a traction control switch.

There's traction control on this car so there at least some electronic aid..if it was turned on .

There is at least one of these in the GTA - seen him driving around sunday mornings on the 401. beautiful car
