Don't think there was much for Merc to do at that point. If they brought Hamilton in under SC they would have lost track position as Max would have stayed out. And before SC period, I don't think there was enough gap between Ham and Ver to pit.

RB had nothing to lose, so they took a gamble and it paid off. Good for them!

Well, Merc could have made that gamble too. If they pitted Lou, one of two thing would have happened. Either Max would have stayed out, reversing their tire situations, positions, and probably the finish. Or Max pits and it's a heads up race to the end with Lou in the lead. Both situations favored Lou, unless the race ended behind the safety car, but FIA made it clear they were always trying to prevent that.

Ha. Y'all found formuladank.

"The FIA World Motor Sport Council subsequently confirmed the 2026 power units will retain the existing 1.6-litre V6 engines and increase the amount of electrical energy they can generate, while doing away with the expensive MGU-H. Power unit costs will also be capped for the first time."

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Spent the last day of the year watching the last race all over again.

Wow, just wow. Is all I can say,

Hoping Lewey doesn't announce a shock retirement.

Need to watch these guys duke it out again..

I kinda hope he does. There's a number of deserving guys I'd rather see in seats (Piastri, de Vries) that his leaving would indirectly facilitate.

It's refreshing to see an actual full time race car driver as WDC instead of a driver/Instagram whore/3rd string runway model/Hippity Hop artist.

I have no clue or care what Hamilton or any other driver does outside of F1. Hamilton is simply an undeniable talent as a driver

I will say, it got mildly annoying when F1 got carried away with the "movement" which thankfully got sanitized as the season wore on.

Just bring back the glory days of F1's hard racing, and leave world events and protests out of it. Please.

I do. There's no denying he can drive the car. As far as being an F1 driver, the fact that they couldn't get Lewis to drive the 70 miles to Brackley to hop in the simulator until he was 32 points behind Max after AUS2 is telling. Too busy puttering around the house posting selfies on social media and playing with his mixing board. 98 after Hakkinen won 4 of the first 6 races Schumacher was in Maranello working through the nights with the mechanics to get the car up to speed. That's a F1 driver.

Race hard against Lewis and he's on the radio complaining to Bono about your "dangerous driving" (Perez, Alonso, etc.).

Villeneuve vs. Arnoux - France '79. Where we're going, there are no track limits.
