Hard to believe that Kimi just needed 0.6s .... Pretty close again. I am going to say that the tires seem to be the most important part of the car nowadays or should I rather say how you treat the tires. I am starting to think, perhaps they have way too much weight on a result?
Nobody seems to talk about engine, aero package or a gearbox anymore. It's tires this and that, how narrow the temperature window is .... it feels like a tire championship, even though there's just one tire supplier .. .LOL I think the fact that we have had so many winners kind of proves that the rest of the car really doesn't matter much anymore (of course to a limit). It's the setup and how long a setup will make tires last, hook up on a drive out of a corner etc. ....
Perhaps that is the only way how to make the races interesting in 21st century.

Seriously though..I think the tires magnify the car problems..if you have a balance problem..etc..you can use up your tires more quickly. It's not as though there are special tires for certain people..everyone is on equal tires. I'm glad they're all on the same tires frankly..they are by far the biggest factor in lap times. OTOH..qualifying is looking a bit daft when people don't want to run because they don't want to take any life out of their tires.

Bit of a hijack here but.... I've got 2, three day tickets for sale for this years Canadian GP. Grandstand 24, Section 6, Row BB. Anyone interested I'm asking $800. Would part with only one seat if preferable for $400. Won't find any better seats. I've been sitting here since 1992, and won't sit anywhere else.

F1 needs more Kimi and less Lewis.. Bit of a piss race..but you can't beat the aura..I always enjoy watching this qualifying and race..except when Schumi parks it across the road to guarantee his pole time..
